Question Has anyone actually purchased an AWD Gemini/Compass for $79,999?

I'm curious. Is this the actual, going price? Is this what people are paying for this new B+?

Looks like a standard discount off MSRP for a MH.

That's where they start...
But you'll never get out the door without a few... extras!

What extras would need to be purchased? If the advertised price is 80K, could you just offer 75K and not agree to any "extras"? I would be interested to hear if anybody paid under the lowest internet price of 80K as well.

New price $81,999. 12/5/2020. They still list units at the old price but they are listed as sale pending.

A $2,000 jump on an $80,000 price is 2.5%.
That's pretty small....

The short answer is yes. There were a couple of hundred dollars ($2-300) in fees, reg, etc. but that was it. They did ask a few times if I wanted an extended warranty, but I declined it.

It was also very easy, I knew what I wanted, called, set it up, waited a few months for it to arrive, and flew out to collect it when it came in. It was actually much easier than I thought it would be.

MHSRV has changed owners since I bought my coach but there was no add-ons on the listed price $86,500. Included but not advertised was a welcome kit which included a 4x6 patio rug, a complete good quality took kit, 20 ft sewer hose, 25 ft water hose, a package of 25 gloves and a dispenser tube of hand sanitizer wipes.

David, thanks for your report. Which model did you purchase? How was the drive home? Did you stay in the rig along the way? What do you think of the chassis? Anything interesting you've discovered about the rig since you purchased it?

2021 Gemini

I bought a 23 TW on the Ford chassis and drove it back to CA. I could not be more pleased with the chassis. It has plenty of power, doesn’t get pushed about in cross winds and is reasonably good on gas. As I said in another post, you have a choice between economy and boost. I did find that on premium it gets much better mileage than on 87 octane..

The drive home was great. We had a leisurely 10 day trip and had a great time. The floor plan is very good with plenty of storage. Being able to turn around the front seats and use the booster cushions makes all the difference for room inside. I’d recommend a better privacy/sun shade for the front window to maximize space inside.

The quality is okay on the cabinetry etc. A day with a screwdriver, some wood glue and wood putty would make all the difference, or a day with a cabinet guy if you’re not handy.

The only thing that I could see being an issue is the height of the toilet from the floor. If you’re short, it might be more like standing than sitting when you’re on the seat, so a stool for your legs, like a squatty potty might be money well spent. I can recommend a sales person to talk to if you want to message me direct.

Hi David,
Could you be a tiny bit more specific about he fuel mileage?
Or didn't you keep track of the actual numbers?

Fuel Mileage

I tend to drive around the limit, but have been told I have a heavy foot. At 70+, it’s averaging about 10-11mpg by the computer. I haven’t calculated by hand. On slower roads, when speeds are 55-50mph, it’s closer to 14-15. When we picked it up, the computer average on what must have been the delivery trip from IN showed 8.3mph. Filling it with Premium improved the performance noticeably and I think also helped the mileage.

As an aside, there are different drive modes for the transmission, normal, eco, etc. Every time you start it, the default is normal. Eco seems to delay downshifts and upshift more quickly, resulting in better mileage on the interstates. Around town, I prefer normal, since it is more responsive.

That's pretty good!
I get 13 to 16 mpg (Depending on if the Toad is with us),
and that's with a diesel. that is a bit... underpowered...

On order for $80,000 plus tax, delivery expected late January in Elkhart.

Will drive Compass 23TW from Elkhart dealer back to California after January 2021 build. Anyone care to guess where my compass will point on day one? I got the only two options available included for the price too.

Dealers here think they are kissing your butt if they give you $10k off list. $40k off list is a real nice place to start a Motorhome ownership. My friend got a 2020 Thor xg32 4x4 for $140k. List was $218k. That was in August. Supply, demand, and dealer policy can get you a great deal.

Accessorizing is where you’ll spend so Eloise change is to be expected in the “nesting phase.” The ladies especially love the nesting phase.

I’ve learned to go with it. Warmer and happier coach is the result.

Got THAT right! Price fades next to SWMBO. It cost me almost $4,000 for extended warranty and roadside assist that I wanted to pass up.
