Navigation/GPS Issues
We have a 2021 Thor Gemini 23TW that we purchased new and was delivered in October 2020. Since the beginning, we have had issues with the navigation/GPS. We have a Ford chassis with Sync-3. When we enter a destination on the Sync-3 NAV, we start off ok but at some point it goes haywire and “thinks” our RV is a few hundred feet to our right on a parallel road (rather than the road we are on). Even if we are on a straight freeway/highway, the NAV tells us to turn left, turn right, make U-turns (like it is trying to get us back on the route). The same thing happens if we plug in our iPhone, use Apple Play and Waze or Google Maps, etc. It does not happen if we use Waze or Google Maps if we don’t plug in to Apple Play. We have been to Ford dealer twice and they did upgrades each time, but problem persisted. Ford thought Thor might have pinched some wires and/or done something to antenna. Dealer opened the cab area and replaced antenna. Same problem. Has anyone experienced anything like this and/or have any suggestions? Thanks.

Following this one
I have several Fords and one after an update to the GPS tracks to the right on some roads but not to the point of wanting to turn or correct
You have an interesting situation that will be great to hear the resolution

Youve forgot to tell us a step.
If you Don't plug your phone into the unit, whats the phones gps accuracy?
I don't know how apple play works.
Phone on your lap, itself alone, no power cord or wireless or wired hookups, what happens?
I THINK my older Eonon from about 2010 lets me shift the map on the screen to match the route. But your problem doesn't make sense.
Does anything change when the vehicle engine/ignition is turned off but the map is still on? Like acc position or house power.

Sounds like a GPS satellite reception/synchronization issue. This is not unusual for a Class C or truck camper rig when traveling in a northerly direction. Same with Satellite radio depending on the antenna placement.

If we don’t plug the phone into the unit, the navigation/GPS is accurate and works fine.
Nothing changes when the vehicle is turned off.

Interesting that you say not unusual when traveling in a northerly direction. I definitely remember a few occasions driving north (from our storage facility), but happened on our return south to storage. Also happened on an east/west cross country trip.

Update - spoke with Thor Customer Service (again) and suggested dealer replace the antenna extension. They sent a photo and part number. Hopefully it will work.
Here is the Part Number for the extension we add.
0472795 - EXTENSION, ANTENNA, DUAL FAKRA CODE C - SIGNAL BLUE, 20' CABLE, RG174, PP507122

Navigation/GPS worked perfectly on Sync-3 and Apple Car Play on recent trip to AZ.. Dealer installed new antenna extension and seems to work fine.

Wait a minute...you expect us to believe that Thor communicated good advice and that Ford followed that advice and everything worked out OK???
Very good to hear a nice ending to a RV issue...thanks for posting.
