New motor home issues

I recently upgraded from a travel trailer to a new 2022 Thor motor home. Wind sport 29m.

I知 finding quite a few problems and am curious is it normal to find things like this?

Issue with ladder install

Screw loose on leveling console

Trim popping out

And finally the worst one.. when I push the right leveling button the front driver side and rear passenger jacks go down. When I push the left, the opposite happens.

I知 making a list to take to the dealer but I知 a little perplexed at this seemingly poor craftsmanship. Is this an anomaly?

What research did you do before your purchase?
None of these are surpsrises short of a Newell.

I guess I was mostly focused on what would work best for my family. I didn't dive too much into what to expect. Probably a mistake on my part.

Thanks for the reply.

You bought an entry level KIT.
They have lended you cheap flooring, low line microwave, exhaustingly poor radio....
Use them until you decide what fits you best, replace as you go along.

There isnt a single component on your rv that isn't of the least possible value.

Enjoy The hobby of making it yours by changing out items.

Look at the thread in my signature.
There are lots of ways to become happy.
Some of us find it relaxing and rewarding to change things to how they best suit us instead of how some anonymous cube-farm harried junior engineer on a tight budget decided to cut corners.

Those are really minor issues and can be fixed easily. It take a while to get the bugs worked out. If you're handy you should fix them yourself

Don't get discouraged. Take some trips and enjoy it

For your jacks it sounds like the hoses were improperly installed at the pump. Should be an easy fix to just switch the lines

Call thor to get the pump schematic so you know where each line should go. Trace each line if they are not already labeled at the pump. Move each line to the proper position. It should only require 1 wrench to fix

Good luck

Jerry

Reread your post on levers. Seems the front hoses are in the wrong place. Just need to switch those 2 lines. Trace the 2 lines and switch.

While you're working on those lines check for any possible area where a line can rub on the metal cabinet holding the leveler system. If I remember correctly the front drivers line can rub there and eventually will cut and leak. I zip tied the line up and away from the metal box to prevent this from happening

Jerry is right and I was hasty.

If your selling dealer gives you grief of the slightest sort, call thor and ask to either go to an independent rv fixer or have a mobile unit come to you.
Call Thor after your dealer isn't cooperative or tells you its a long wait to get in.

If you have a friend who is even beginning type handy, these fixes total about 30 minutes while in your driveway.

Thanks for the input everyone. You are right I can probably fix it all and save myself some headache with the dealer.

Also appreciate the tips about Thor and the dealership.

Unfortunately, not an anomaly. Was everything perfect in your TT? That would be an anomaly now-a-days. I owned 4 TTs new since 2003 and none of them were perfect, Things have only gotten worse since the industry downturn in 2006 - 2008. And now, with the pandemic rush to get outdoors, dealers can't seem to keep RVs on the lot because the manufacturers can't make them fast enough - no time for quality control and no lemon law in most states for the house part of the MH.

This forum is full of fixes, avail yourself of the resources. Especially with a 29M there is a mega thread of fixes and upgrades.

TT wasn’t perfect but we bought used and the motor home was a much bigger investment.

The 29m is a great mh. Get these few bugs fixed and start travelling. You will enjoy it

I'm kind of having sellers remorse after selling mine but that will change once my new mh gets here

Yep, we've got 2 small trips planned before the end of the year and hoping to go on a big one over the summer when kids are out of school.

Welcome to the forum. If you should need any parts for any repairs, get them from Thor while under your 1st year warranty. I had Thor send me some parts while under warranty and I did a few repairs myself. I have owned two different motor homes and each one had some repairs to complete once I took possession.

Newell!!! I had a guy pull next to use last month. What a freakin awesome rig. He was towing a real Hummer. Of course for $2 million it would be expected.

It's quite possible that the hydraulic lines ARE correct... but some rookie wired the push-button pad wrong. If the pad pops out easily, I would check there FIRST before swapping hydraulic hoses. Just my 2「.

We drive past two RV dealers quite frequently. Over the last month both of their lots have gone from barren (NO motorhomes - only trailers) to quite a few class C and A units... which were non-existent over the entire summer. While they had MANY trailers, the motorhomes were nowhere to be seen. Looks like that's rapidly changing... there are at least four class C units that have been there for several weeks now.

Or more likely and easier to fix - the solenoid wires are swapped at the block.

Great idea. I took a look at the hydraulic lines and got a bit intimidated about messing with them.

Looks like the pad is just held in with screws... an EASY check. And I also agree with checking the solenoid wires... in that order.
