There is no paint. It is tinted gel coat. You didn’t buy a rig worthy of paint.

But you can do touch ups with paint. For small jobs where there isn’t commercially available paint it’s pretty easy to mix your own. Go to AutoZone or similar and buy the closest you can find that’s just a shade darker. Mix in white, tan, beige or whatever until you get a good match. It may not be perfect but it’s cheap and easy.

My comment was on the cheap entry level rig not the person. Many high end folks have RVs that are not worthy of paint. And BTW Thor Motor Coach evens says their rigs are entry level and proudly makes that statement in their annual report to the SEC and shareholders.

Point taken. My comment was just light-hearted humor. I'm one of those fortunate peasants who purchased their "paint unworthy" coaches before the current group of peasants were taken to the cleaners with these insane price hikes!

Another way to look at the paint vs fiberglass/clearcoat scenario is to weigh the "cost vs perceived value". I could have spent substantial extra money on full body paint. No doubt that paint is extraordinarily beautiful, AND keeps it's gloss much longer - required maintenance on both understood. There's plenty evidence of cracked decals and chalking fiberglass/clearcoat on unmaintained motorhomes. Neglected paint will obviously fare MUCH better.

Economically full body paint was a low priority for me... I considered it a poor use of funds for OUR use case. Several things I considered...

I approached our MH purchase the same as any major expenditure. It's a commodity intended to fulfill a desire for recreational travel. Practical use and our convenience were priorities. The life expectancy of our motorhome FAR exceeds it's anticipated practical use by us. It's NOT a financial investment (actually the opposite), but rather a tool for helping us enjoy our remaining healthy years - a reward for our hard work.

The impetus for our purchase aligned with statistical evidence of "lack of longevity" on the male side of my family tree. Or in simple language... Travel and enjoy yourself NOW, or wait for a future that may never come.

To that end - I hope EVERYONE stays healthy and is able to fulfill those travel dreams! Do it while you can!!

Could be that is the reason a 45 foot Thor MC Tuscany sells for $450,000 and a Entegra Cornerstone sells for $600,000 and the Tiffin Zephyr at $750,000. All of there are production line coaches, not custom models and are considered middle line luxury coaches. They all have good quality $50,000 paint job that take two weeks to apply. Newel's have $100,000-$200,000 paint jobs that take 4 weeks to apply, but they only make about 24 coaches per year and are custom. The are considered a high end coach.
In 2016, I repainted my 1959 Fiat Abarth Zagato GT 750. The sealer and primer were $215 for the little 12 foot long 44 inch high race car. The Imron single stage paint was $600 with additional $70 for the catalyst. The clear coat was another $400 with catalyst. I rented a down draft spray booth for two days at $488. I had my own suit and air helmet. It took another week to sand and polish the paint after the clear coach was completely catalyzed. Good custom paint is expensive and the prep labor is about 10 times the cost of the paint. Was it worth it - well I sold the car in 2015 to a collector for $130,000 with the racing spares. The car paid for the our Hurricane, the mods for the second A/C and our two month break-in trip the BC Canada. My coach has cheap partial paint a $2,500 option.
