Roadside Assistance
Pre COVID I had 2 separate disabling tire issues. One just a flat and one a blowout that took out some plumbing under shower and gas filling pipe. Both times Good Sam's Roadside Assistance was quick and did a fine jo.
Post COVID we had tire damage and blowout on our Jeep toad. Good Sam's was worthless. Wanted me to use smart phone and link "we texted you." We got no link. Ended up searching out assistance on our own and were back on road quickly and relatively cheaply.
Not sure why COVID is affecting phone based customer support and/or service so much. It can be done from home instead of a germ filled call center!
How many have roadside assistance? Who has recent experience and who do you recommend here in the time of the China Virus.

I have AAA with the RV add on to be able to tow us in the event we are stopped on the road. They will also respond to change a flat on our rv in the event of a flat/blow out. I do carry a spare at all times.

Road side assistance
If you have a Ford they include 5 years or 60K RSA for free. No need to go anywhere else.

Have you tried to use it though? Most Ford dealers won’t work on RVs and the ones that do are not thick upon the earth. With an RV specific plan there are a lot more resources to call upon.

It’s roadside assistance, not work done at a dealer. L

Sure, but have you tried it? They might (might) change a tire - if you have a spare. But will they fix an engine or have tow equipment for a 20,000lb RV?

I had Coachnet, and when I needed them, they always were there for me. One time, I had to have our 41 foot DP towed to Cummins for emergency engine work. Coachnet got the right tow truck out, the tow driver knew exactly how to tow a huge motorhome and got it done timely and no damage. Unfortunately Cummins was backed up and it sat for three weeks before they were able to get to it, but it did all get done.

Had a vacuum leak due to rodent damage in my storage lot. Eng. would not stay running. Called Ford, they made sure I was not stranded, sent a tow truck and towed to a Ford dealer that works on RV's about 30 mies. No charge for towing, but had to pay for repair.
I have since started using TomCat rodent repellent spray in eng. area and around generator. No problem since.

I've got Coachnet and Good Sam.
I figure that if I call both of them: there's a 7.4% chance that one of them might show up...

I've not had any need to try it, nor do I want to, but if you call their 800 number you'll get the right info first hand.

Similar to Bob, we have AAA and Sam Club. Have not heard about Ford providing any help.
Also, luckily we have not used them on our Thor.
Years ago with truck/camper we called AAA for a flat. By the time they arrived I was almost done. Another time I was not impressed with the towing.

Ford vs Good Sam
I had a breakdown a few years ago in Washington state. I called Good Sam's, waited a few hours from them to find a tow as the sun was setting. I called Ford and they had a tow in an hour, brought me to a dealer, 30 minutes away (the dealer repaired Ford based RVs and sold Fords). We paid for a rental car and Ford sent the wrong part 3 days later. After additional 3 days wait, the dealer paid for the extended rental, Ford paid for the parts and most labor. As I remember, less than $200 out-of-pocket. (hydraulic brake lines bled out, one line was broken and the other damaged and leaking).
Good Sam's finally found a Tow for us as we were half way to the Ford dealership, 6 hours after our call.
Don't short Ford, they were our Hero on a holiday afternoon.!
We did not renew Good Sam's.
We have tow included in our RV insurance.

Mercedes
I have Mercedes Sprinter. Had major breakdown (not due to manufacturer defect) and needed tow. Mercedes paid for tow, no questions asked. Also, fortunately, Mercedes dealerships have garages set up for high vehicles and did the repair work. It took several weeks but got it back in time for next trip.

Welcome to the Forum.
Generally Thor does not but the selling dealer might.
A new motorhome will come with Ford Roadside Assistance for the chassis. Not sure if it is a MB or Chevy chassis if there is anything similar.

When we bought our used MH from our local Camping World they included a 3 year Good Sam Elite membership, 1 year Good Sam Travel Assist and 2 years Good Sam Road Side Assistance. They also included a Camping Starter kit which included FW hose, Rhino Dump hose kit, TP and chemicals.
That may or may not apply to other Camping World locations.

Don't know about MB, but Chevy doesn't. I bought a separate Roadside Assistance plan.

They have a separate motorhome division and phone number for roadside. Try calling them and discuss the issue.
