It didn't take long to find out they were scammers.
Clue one, They wanted to send me a cashiers check.
Clue two, They wanted it sight unseen.
Clue three, they offered to send an extra $50.00 for me to hold it.
Clue four, There area codes were in places like New Jersey. I live in Arkansas.
Clue five,, They wanted to chat on something called Google talk. All I had to do is send them the code. You know how Google will send you a code when you forget the password? They were trying to hack my Google account.
Just a warning to others that try to sell anything on Craigslist.
BTW - I sold the sofa in just one day thru the FB Market Place.

Isn't it a crying shame that any great communication invention gets so misused by the liars, cheaters, thieves and scammers that it completely nullifies the benefit of the invention?
It took decades but the simple telephone is now something we never answer unless we recognize the number.
How many legitimate pieces of mail come in the mailbox these days?
Email has become quite the jungle to wade through.
If you have had a business FAX you know about all the unsolicited FAX "deals".
If your cell number gets on a list you are bombarded by TEXT SPAM.
Craigslist was great when it started until the SCAMMERS ruined it. Now it's such a minefield, legitimate sellers would rather not use it. I took the chance recently selling a Hobie Cat on Craigslist with the ad running about a month and was surprised I did not get a single SCAMMER inquiry. I guess I was lucky or they don't know what a Hobie Cat is.
