Thank you Garmin

Here is where Mapquest and Google take you to go to Kinesee Lake. Garmin avoids the area entirely.

Many thanks Garmin.

Mill Creek Rd Jefferson Ohio

Note, 1/2 mile in reverse to turn around.

WOW!!! So many naysayers about the Garmin RV profile...I've always sworn by it. Did you have it programed with Garmin or was this afterthought once you drove up on it? I've been saved by Garmin many times and proven wrong by them when I thought I knew more!

My Garmin RV 760 routed me around the area. Others using MapQuest and Google weren’t so lucky.

The Jeep routed me this way going and coming back from a day trip to Cleveland earlier today.

I have used Garmin products for years in planes, boats and RVs. Absolutely the best. Not perfect but pretty darn close.

Ah, misunderstood I thought you had the Super C and had to back up 1/2 mile!

No the Garmin RV 760 routed me around. The 5th wheel that pulled up to registration after us wasn’t that lucky. He had to back up and he was upset about it. I asked what he used and it was Mapquest, Google and his Dodge Ram’s GPS which so happens to be the same as my Jeep.

I use the Garmin plus Waze. Both are life-savers when used in tandem.

Waze has let me avoid major back-ups from construction and accidents real-time while the Garmin makes sure the alternate route is ok for my coach.

I use Waze because I find the Garmin Traffic feature not to be as real-time and accurate as Waze.

Make sure to update the Garmin from time to time. They do make improvements to the routing software and the maps. I hadn't done an update sine last summer and just checked the other day and it did a major update to the unit's firmware and the mapping software.

Is the main difference in an RV GPS the ability to program the vehicle height?

But until they direct and redirect me successfully around traffic like Waze or better, I can't use. The social media to warn of road hazards, hiding police etc. is a double bonus. We have 2 Garmin's, non RV versions, but I gave up with all of the map updates maintenance. Maybe they allow you to download maps for free, but I got burned out. Waze came along and I never looked back.

I have question.

On the bridge, was there not some signs well out in advanced that warned of low level clearance ahead? It doesn't look damaged; so I assume everyone got advisement notice?

I’d like to sell my Garmin RV890 but when I log into the classifieds page it says “you may not create new posts” although I can reply to others. I don’t see any way to contact anyone who can help me figure out what I might be doing wrong. Any ideas? Thank you.

The signs are after you turn onto the road. The signs on the bridge can be seen from a distance. Don’t think anyone would be idiot enough to try driving through after seeing the signs.

You keep Waxe. I’ll stick with the proven Garmin RV.

Did you log into the classified site using the same credentials you use here for the Forum?
