How much wind is too much?
30.2 ACE. Loaded up I’m planning to hit the road once the kids are out of school for three day weekend. North Texas is currently blowing 23 to 25 mph mile per hour winds. Gusts up to 40. Only have an hour and a half drive and wondering if that’s a mistake? What have been your experiences with wind?

What type of coach Class A or C? I have driven both in heavy wind and neither is a pleasant experience. The class A with the added height is worse. IMHO if you slow down and try to anticipate where gusts will hit you, (coming out of trees to open fields, out from the underpass, after passing trucks) you should be ok. If its too big a chore you can always pull over.
Your results may vary.

Thanks. Short drive and as you say if it gets weird...pull over.

Just slow down, and pay attention to what the rig is doing underneath you.
If things start getting "wonky": pull over.

Not to get too technical, but what's the prevailing wind direction in relation to your direction of travel? It's been a while since I've been in TX; but most roads I recall are fairly straight - and either N/S or E/W.
If you're driving directly into the wind, it shouldn't be too bad. Just may cost you an MPG or so. Directly away from the wind is even better - you may actually gain an MPG from the "push".
If the wind is primarily hitting you from the side - then it's going to get interesting. Both hands on the wheel at all times, slow down a bit, and that will help you stay in your lane.
Wind at a diagonal? All bets are off.

Heading into a 35 mph gusting 50 mph wind traveling at 50 mph, March 2018, I had the big slide topper unfurl. It made an awful racket and bent both brackets. I found the gust lock on my other topper were not properly adjusted. When I installed the new brackets, I made sure I had the gust locks on the Carefree topper properly adjusted. No problems since, but when parked I do pull the slides in wind is over 40 mph so the gust locks work.

Where in north Texas?
Winds southeast of Amarillo on 287 in my experience can be unpredictable, making it impossible to anticipate sudden bursts.
In Florida I’ve driven through tropical-storm winds as hurricanes approached, yet my worst experience with wind was approaching Amarillo in an SUV. Other times I’ve driven through that same area in motorhomes with strong winds which weren’t as bad.
I would not stay home, but would take my time and drive with extra care. Fortunately you have a relatively short drive.
