Transport from Wakarusa to South Bend Airport

We have our long-awaited warranty appointment at the Thor Service Center in Wakarusa coming up in two weeks and I'm planning to drop off our Windsport and fly home while the work is done. I'm planning to fly out of the South Bend airport (SBN) but I'm having a hard time finding a way to get from the Thor Service Center to the airport.

Uber says it doesn't have cars available for that trip.

Lyft won't let me book a trip until I'm ready - but I can't wait until I'm ready to get a ride to find out they don't service that area.

I can't find any airport shuttles that service SBN.

Are taxis my only options?

Has anyone done this? How did you do it?

I took a Lyft from the airport in South Bend to the Service Center in Wakarusa. It wasn't too expensive.

Another option you may have..... there is an Enterprise Rental Car not far from the Service Center. A couple years ago I actually picked up an Enterprise Rental Car at the Service Center.

You could look at renting from Enterprise near Thor. They should bring the car to you and then you could drop it at the airport. This assumes they stayed in business through COVID since they were a small Enterprise shop.

Thanks to everyone for the ideas. I successfully drove out to Wakarusa over the past few days and our Windsport will have her warranty service appointment starting Monday. I had a great experience at the service center. I met with the service writer to go through our list of items and he was more than happy to listen to me and make note of everything I could think of that needed to be fixed. He said that they disinfect the RV prior to their crew working in it and will disinfect it once again upon completion of the work. They also do a propane system pressure test, water system pressure test, and a "hurricane simulator" leak test on the outside to find any leaks. So far I'm very happy with my experience with Thor!

I did have a tough time getting a ride to the airport though! I tried for about an hour to get an Uber or Lyft ride but neither service had any drivers out in that area. After an hour I gave up and called Elkhart Taxi and got a ride with them. It wasn't the cheapest but it was cheaper than renting a car from Enterprise and certainly less complicated.

Thor said they guess it will be about two weeks of work to complete but I scheduled flights back in about 4 weeks to play it safe.

Hats off to Thor so far! More to come.

Good luck with the repairs, and I'm glad to see that there was no hitchhiking involved in the trip to the airport.

That’s why I will only use the Thor Factory Service Center for major repairs..... even out of warranty.

Their customer service is top notch and they have the experience to fix things right.... and better than the factory.
