winterize??
Looking to go to Amarillo, Texas the 2nd week of Feb. Looks like low temps in the high 20's at night. Do I need to winterize?

What's temps during day? High 20's for short periods, followed by warmer days...all should be good. Just be ready to winterize if Mother Nature changes her mind. Open cabinet doors under sinks at night. Heat will radiate back into walls, etc.

Are you camping in/using it? If so just fill the fresh tank and don't connect a hose overnight.
If not, it shouldn't "hard freeze" overnight in the 20s. like previously stated by Glitz. If you are worried, then for peace of mind, you can winterize the water lines. But, it shouldn't be necessary.
We camped in NM last week and no problems with temps in mid 20s overnight.

NMRVer, you said not to connect the water. Why is that? We will be living in it.
Thanks for your help.
Woke up this AM to an unexpected 30 degrees. Turned on the heat and got air flowing for 2 minutes, no heat, then shut off. Just had it fixed last month.

Probably air in the gas line that needs to be bled out.

Water freezing will bust your hose, so using your fresh tank (in heated compartment) will save your hose.
I agree you may have experience LP lock up. Close tank and re-open tank valve will unlock the regulator and you should have LP gas flow again.

Just let your faucets drip, moving water won’t freeze.

We disconnect when it drops below freezing. The hose will freeze first, sometimes it bursts, then the freeze follows up into the RV. (Our house did the same and froze our pipes) During the day we fill if needed. We leave our sinks on a semi-steady drip during the night, or when out and not using it. We dropped below 20 and didn't freeze up. We also left our cabinets open so the heated air could circulate underneath where the pipes were.
Better safe than sorry.

dripping water
So disconnect and leave water dripping. When you leave the water dripping the pump will be on all night correct? Should not hurt the pump right? The noise is just an inconvenience I guess?

Keep your heat set to 65 and don't worry
Do not let the water drip. You don't need to leave the cupboard open.. If you're driving it in 0 degrees, yes, but above 10 degrees, just use your furnace. (the worst it will do is make pictures of your coach turn sideways!)

Ok, 12 degrees this am. Expected high of 34 today, 18 tonight then warmer. I winterized the pipes with appropriate antifreeze and emptied the grey and black holding tanks but will be using the toilet and pouring wash water into the tanks today(sparingly). My question is are these tanks heated? I have the furnace @68. Should I be ok? Should I pour some antifreeze into the tanks?
Thanks for everyone's help. I am new to this and very worried about the cold. So much so that we have changed our plans and are going to Arizona instead until the weather heats up.
