Colorado 8600 feet

Well we left a campground in NM and booked beautiful CO sites up to 8600 feet in the mountains.
See my 2 other posts for campgrounds.
Said there was water around.. but NO!
Had 2/3 tank. Dropped to 1/3 after 2 of 4 days.
Well. Campers using the Well!
We pumped and used battery operated siphon to add water.
Fun! 1st time.

Cool! Heading out that way... leaving Aug. 6th. Can't wait for cool mountain breezes!

I carry a 12v pump and bucket - leftover from our towable days. Call me paranoid... just got my "emergency backup" Pentair water pump today. One is none. So NOW I'll have three water pumps!

Yes I had a collapsible 5 gal bpa free but did not last.
Since we do rec.gov state national parks without services at times, will get bucket 🪣.
AND
Mine pump used batteries, so need to only have them.
Backup anything camping is a must.
Up in Colorado, no cell, no TV.
We sat off Rivers in our clam talking, watching rafters.
No bugs with the CLAM.

Getting one of these

Maybe 3 & 5 gallon.
Can use for anything.
And when we need to go to the ice machine at a hotel.

BTW 4 four days up in Colorado. Great sun.
180 watt solar & 3000 watt inverter.
No Generator for 4 days!
Batteries always great.
Even when rained and cloudy with Peaks of sun ..full batteries.
Used microwave..Coffee Maker etc
FUN having NO services and being with other B , C , TENTERS off grid.
Many had buckets and some 4 wheel carts to transport water.
Enjoy our friends

I'll have to show that to my brother -in-law... he was looking for something like that.

For bugs/mosquitos I'm "chemical dependent". I never travel without my high Deet concentrate bug repellent.

Alaska is beautiful... but I've seen videos recently of those nasty mosquitoes! Not for me! I'll do BC and portions of Canada/Rocky Mountains and be happy. When the mosquitos, deer flies and nasty biting insects become overwhelming... I'm moving on!

Scuba wise, how hard was it to change out the 3000W inverter out? The Thor/ Entegra rep told me 1000 W was only thing they could put into my Vision.

It is not a problem of finding space for a 3000 watt inverter (it is only 1/3 larger than a 1000 watt). The problem in finding space for battery bank that will supply 250 amps @ 12 volts to the inverter; say nothing about running the 0000 electrical cable.

How much did have to increase? 2 or 4 batteries? And how many amp hours? Thanks!

So true. Cabling for that is not like stringing a few wires and tightening a few screws. Properly sized COPPER cable requires properly sized lugs... which requires a heavy duty crimping tool... and don't forget shrink tubing and fusing for cable size. Shortcuts in this process will set you up for chasing headaches later.

So true. My thoughts zoomed in on welding lead cables and let supply store crimp the ends.

180 watt solar works.

Do you mind telling me which shop you used and what did your RV come out with from the factory?

200Ah lithium with 600 watts solar. Will be a good test in Colorado. Plan on boondocking as much as possible... and avoiding hot temps. Of course rain/clouds are the enemy of solar... but that's what the genny's for!
