Anyone here going to the "Elkhart Experience" rally in July?

We've never been to a rally before and don't know what to expect. It sounded interesting & fun, so we thought we'd give it a try.

Also hope we might make some new RV friends, so wonder if anyone here is going.

No personal experience here, but maybe a little bump will get you a better response. If not, please report back af.after.

Thanks for the bump. I believe the registrations filled up, so we certainly won't be alone. I was just curious if we'd meet any of the posters from this forum.

If I'm not mistaken, it's a new event that is put together by the folks behind the rvlife youtubes. It sounded fun and wasn't too far away (well, still 300 miles from home, but then we have to go at least 250 miles to leave the state in any case), so we're giving it a shot and hoping for a new adventure. DH grew up on the Michigan/Indiana border, so Elkhardt isn't really new ground, but a rally is, for us.

Will report back afterward.

Take the time to go to the RV museum in Goshen. It was a great place to see. We have seen it twice. Both were at national rallies with SOB that built out fifth wheel. If a outing is offered to go to an Amish dinner, do so. It too was a nice experience. Go hungry!

The rally is on the grounds of the RV Hall of Fame in Elkhart. Is this the same museum you are referring to or are there 2 and we should see both? We are looking forward to the Hall of Fame and definitely will have some time planned in for that.

Don't know that the rally includes any tour of Amish country, but we will likely take some time for that on our day back home to northern MI. We've enjoyed other visits to Amish communities as we travel (Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia). Their food service is always bountiful.

Well we're back from our latest adventure and, as promised, here's the "report." It was a lot of fun. We met and made friends with lots of very nice people (which had been our hope and was really no surprise). It was interesting to see how many different place they came from; some quite far.

The RV Hall of Fame was impressive. If you get a chance to go there, do so. Lots of amusing history and variety of RVs in all forms. They are a Harvest Host as well as having some longer term sites with electric if you are looking to stay and explore the area. We will likely go back in the fall when it cools down and we have more time to explore the surrounding Amish communities.

Had a factory tour at Keystone RV, which was one of the sponsors. Quite an automated production line. The employees were really hustling to get those rigs built.

Attended educational sessions on maintenance, solar power, and more.
Plenty of great potluck food and fun times around the campfire pits. The outdoor temperatures were blazing hot, as it seems to be everywhere right now, but the air conditioned hall was a very nice respite and great place for the organized activities.
