Atlanta Motor Speedway

Anyone ever stay in the infield of Atlanta Motor Speedway for a race? Can you give me a few pointers? What is it like? Can you see the track? Is it too hot in July? Are the portable generators as bad as they say they are? Never the less, this is a bucket list item, and I'm goin in July. I can sleep it off on Monday night....I stayed outside the track in Charlotte, I'd rather be inside and have the RV refrig right there....

I have stayed on the outside camp ground, it was great. If you can get Gritz Carlton to chime in he used to have a spot on the infield.

Thanks, will do before deposit goes down next week. I think its a go, and south of Atlanta, so traffic might be tolerable....

Mud, Blood and Beer. Noisy...drunks...loud music all night...loud contractor generators...six feet away from neighbors doors...enough said. We've been camping at AMS for nearly 30 years...I wouldn't camp in the infield for anything...anything!! There are a very few chosen spaces around the outside of infield camping areas next to track but they never come available.
