Camping in the Keys

Camping at Grassy Key RV Resort, great place with a boat dock. Great weather and clear water only 50 miles from Key West.

That's a great-lookin' place!
How long will you be staying there?

Post more pictures. I don't see any grass.
But just the thought of warmth sounds good at the moment.

It's a shame you have to book a year or more in advance to even hope for a spot in the Keys. You stepped in it deep at the show.

That's for state parks not for private RV resorts. When I called they had plenty of openings for November.

Key West has had 230+ straight days where the high temperature has been 80 degrees or above. It’s warm.

Apology. You're correct. I neglected that part.

The Keys are our favorite destination, too. We frequent your neighbors at the Jolly Roger Travel Park about a half mile from Grassy Key TP. Used to spend our time at Bluewater Key until the rates changed our thinking. Enjoy your time while we sit here wishing that we could be there too!

Our "shakedown cruise" after purchasing our RV was to Key Largo, in April '18. This is a great place, if you don't mind being based in the northern end of the Keys. It's a private place, so there are lots of "full-timers" set up there, and you'll actually be renting space from a private owner through the campground. When we arrived, it was only about 6 months after Hurricane Irma - so the full-timers were still making repairs. All facilities were nice and fully operational. Campground at Pennekamp SP (biking distance) was still closed for repairs.

I was looking at their rates & see they charge extra $10.00 a day for extra vehicle.

Do you know if they consider a towed car extra?

We towed a car and did not pay any extra, and they stored my tow dolly the whole time we were there.

Did the Key Largo Offer a monthly rate? I could only find weekly on their site?
