Wink Best route from Chicago to Disney World with minimal constuction?

First time out with our 2016 Thor Windsport class A motorhome in July. We plan on stopping every 6 hours for rest. Any suggestions? Thanks!

my advice is to stay 90 miles away from Orlando at all costs!

You asked about road construction. Apps like Waze and Google Maps will show you construction zones and slow areas. Construction zones are just part of traveling. I wouldn't go too far out of my way to avoid them. There is always enough room for semis to clear, so your coach will clear, too. Just remember that the mirrors are the widest, most vulnerable part.

Watch that your gas tank stays above the 1/4 level, where your generator won't run. An accident on the road can stall you for a long time, and the dash air won't keep your coach cool at idle speed in Florida summer.

Besides your planned mouse destination, consider Homosassa Springs State Park. A second place choice would be Silver Springs SP near Ocala. See some alligators, but not too close!

Agree with Sunshine...you can't avoid construction or accidents and they're everywhere all the time. Google Maps show traffic slow-downs and temp road closures live. Keep an eye out ahead of you and keep fuel tank above half. Two great things about traveling in an RV...you have a home with you all the time (even in stand still traffic) and, if you're in a hurry...you don't have to go. Keep tank FULL in Orlando area...traffic is a disaster!! Stop at the first "Service Plaza" and purchase the SunPass. Use every toll road you can find around Orlando or prepare to sit still a lot of the time. I wouldn't go near Disney in July...even if Minnie was doing lap dances. Enjoy!
