I agree
If you don’t show by midnight the first day, and you don’t call or email...your reservation is cancelled. Period

I still don't see the problem with no shows. Folks are complaining that people reserve but don't show denying access to others that may have shown up. Well if the original person had shown up the other person still would have been denied access. So it is a non issue. Campgrounds don't care because they are paid one way or another and as stated with less people actually there, the owners costs are down. Less to clean up, less electricity to pay and so on. I don't like to pay for something I don't get or use so if I reserve, I go. But I also don't like the idea of not getting a refund if something happens on the way and I can't get to my reserved spot. I think this whole thread is akin to a discussion about best brand of truck; Ford, Chevy or Dodge.

I think when an RVer sees empty sites, and they can't get in: they have every right to be upset...

Isn't that a catch-22: How can you see empty sites if you can't get in??

That's what's wrong with the theme of this thread. People bitchin about what others are doing when they are not even in the campground. Too many busy bodies making judgements for others. I didn't get into the RV lifestyle for a bunch of socialists to start telling me what to do. I get enough of that from TV, the media, singers, pro athletes and the government. I'm out of here.

Yup, it should be clear to all that Ford is the best truck

So let me be sure I follow your point You are saying the RVer that does NOT have a Reservation; but shows up anyway at the last minute or minute that he/she wishes to get a site have a right to be upset because someone else made a reservation and actually paid for the site in advance that did not show for whatever reason they may have had?

What I find intriguing about some of the views is where I fit in

When I get to a site Reserved Site or Not , first thing I do is drive around the park and look for areas or spots I physically like. When all things are equal I try to get a spot where no one will be parked in front of me. I don't like the sewer hose views Occasionally I will go back to the gate to ask if a certain spot is available and they may accommodate. Other times I may leave even with reservation if something is not up to par or what I expected. Once we saw two large dogs running free with owners peacefully lounging at their picnic table, we passed on that park and they gave us a refund at last minute. We never complained to the dog owners just left. Once a power pedestal failed my Southwire protector, they allowed us to pick another site. But for the life of me, I can't see the concern with a site being empty that someone paid for that did not show up? Now if you make reservations, not pay, and not show up; that beef has merit; but that is a RV Park Owner's problem NOT the RVer.

Perhaps they simply call, and find that no spaces are available...

So what was the problem again
And that is for one of the tens of thousands of RV parks across the country.
