Caravan to FL

This may be blasé these days but do people still form caravans? I'm interested in starting one or joining up with one in October.

Ping me if any interest. I'll be starting out from Delaware.

"Build it and they will come!" Let your forum friends know the plan. You'll likely find some folks interested in joining you.

We'll be driving down from E. Tennessee and could hook up with anyone along the way. Arriving Friday, 10/2 so will probably leave here on Thursday and spend one night along the way. Leaving Tuesday 10/6. Planning on driving down the Atlantic side, on to maybe the Keys, then back up Gulf side, visiting friends along the way after the meet.

OOPS! Make that arriving Wednesday, 10/2 and leaving here Tuesday the first.

You plan to make FL in one day?

Nope, leaving Tuesday, the first, and spending one night along the way - just not sure where yet.

I'm not due in FL until 10/23. Have a great trip.

I'm headed to the Appalachians in western NC and taking a hard look at TN before winter settles in there. Any suggestions?

Greystone RV park in Pinnacle NC is a nice place. Short distance from Mt. Airy (Mayberry) and the NC wine trail. We are heading there next week for a 5 day trip.

Maybe - what are your interests as far as sightseeing, events, etc.?

If you want a nice, out of the way, full hookup campground, Whispering River in Walland, Tenn. is one we've enjoyed; reasonable rates. Sits on Little River, away from all the craziness in Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge, yet an easy drive there if you care to partake. https://whisperingriverresort.com/

Cades Cove campground is more primitive, but fills up pretty quickly in the fall. Beautiful setting in the valley near Townsend.

Several commercial campgrounds in Townsend, all pretty nice but a bit pricey, especially in the fall.

Let me know if you need any more info.

Thank you. I like to drive the toad through the mountains. The best years of my life were spent in those parts.

Take care,
Ed

I'm into British sports cars and love cruising the twisties around here. Let me know when you're in the area and maybe we can check some out.

Sorry I missed this. No internet where I was at the time and then I just plain forgot about it. If you go back, don't miss this:
