Were headed out of NC in that direction, Maine, but not sure exactly shen we're leaving. We are terrible at doing the reservation thing as we never know how fast we will move or how distracted we'll get. I'm Gary, call if you'd like.

Make sure that you're really talking early September. Most campgrounds in Maine, Vermont and New Hampshire close down around Columbus Day (Oct 15th or there about).

The best campground in New England is Normandy Farms in Foxboro, MA, just south of Patriot Stadium and Boston. In southern Maine, try Libby's, literally on the coast - careful you don't back to far and fall into the ocean. In the Bar Harbour area, try Smuggler's Den Campground.

We are leaving next Friday . we will be stopping in NC,Maryland and Conn . We cant travel too long , about 5 hours due my wifes problems . we will be staying at Shore Hills Campground in Boothbay.

Ditto, we travel 5hrs. and are ready to stop. Wish I could help you with some locations to stops along the way. We'll be coming from a different direction and will be looking, also. Good luck and we might see you up there.

We do not have any reservations at this time as we don't know how fast we will move. I would like to head out the Tue or Wed after Labor Day. We like the National Forest campgrounds but can't seem to find anything available. So, again, no specific plans.
