The Fall Excursion has started. The first stop is at El Chorro County Park between San Luis Obispo and Morro Bay for a couple of days.

Second stop is San Elijo State Beach in Cardiff By The Sea (North San Diego). The best part is the Seaside Market across Highway 1. They have the best marinated Tri-tip. It's so good that it's called "Cardiff Crack"!

Stage 3: Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. It is a hidden gem east of San Diego on a back road to Palm Springs. There are 5 RVs in the park. All in my party. The vastness is beautiful. More pics to follow.

In the middle of Anza-Borrego Desert is Galleta Meadows. It is several miles square and the owner has hired a metal sculture to create sculptures that show desert life. Here are two. (Finger to be edited out later)

Last part of the trip. I'm at a friend's house in Hesperia CA. We replaced the rear bumper with a 4" square steel bumper to hold the sewer hoses. That will free up a basement.

Unfortunately, the added rear stabilizer was hanging by one bolt. We removed it and I will take care of it after I return home.

Happy Trails!

Doc,
The bumper is from RV SEWER BUMPER - REPLACEMENT SEWER HOSE BUMPER - STEEL BUMPER 4429244. I also bought the bumper cover. It was about $170 shipped. I am very lucky to have a friend who is a machinist. We (basically he) did the installation in about 6 hours. One hour was watching the primer paint dry and drinking beer.

gbrown,

You can never do enough pre-drilling pre-sawing study...and hydration is always important! Thanks for the info.

The ACE (Army Corp Engineers) Campsite in Boomer NC closed for the season yesterday and we spent a couple of nights there. Got a great deal with our $10 Lifetime Senior Pass (over 62). The site was $12/nite with: electricity, water, dumpsite, grill, firepit, table and lots of room.

A few pictures below of the site at breakfast, fishing, our "Laser Eyed" guard dog and a blast from the past...Jiffy Pop on the campfire.

Doc,
We also enjoy staying at Corp of Engineers CG and take advantage of the Lifetime Senior Pass for $12/nite.
Stayed at Whitetail Ridge just out of LaGrange, GA the last 3 nights for a little weekend getaway.
Seeing your "Laser Eyed guard dog" brings back wonderful memories of our black Lab, Lucy

My selling dealer, DeMartini in Grass Valley CA, agreed to pay to have the sway-bar reinstalled locally here in Silicon Valley. So my coach is at Leale's RV getting the work done this week.

And BTW, someone asked me how I liked the Oxygenics shower head. I had a chance to use it for the whole trip and I loved it. It is about the easiest upgrade you can do the the Axis/Vegas.
