Formula 1 U.S. Grand Prix In Austin, TX

Anyone ever camp in/near Austin, TX to watch the F1 U.S. Grand Prix? Can't go this year, but I want to plan for next year. Love me some Formula 1!

No doubt. Me, I'm there to see the race! I know they have a big concert that evening after the race, doesn't interest me. I want to see the free practice sessions and the qualifying also.

I live a couple of miles from COTA and the facility is really nice but I have never been to the USGP. There is one campground, 78 sites, on the facility and it costs $150.00 a night, off season. Austin doesn't have many campgrounds for a city of its size, but the surrounding towns have plenty of campgrounds, including a couple of state parks. I watch it on TV.

That's expensive! Staying at COTA would be cool, but.... I'll research the other parks in the area.
