That's at Universal, not Disney.

Yeah, Disney calls it VIP Tour Services.

Each to his own. I spend where I see fit and if I find its not a good value I will go somewhere else. Disney though expensive, has never failed to impress with great accomodation, great fun and excellent customer service.

On a side note: my son loves it, even at 40. We used the reward of a week at Disney, in a Disney hotel each year after start of school to incentivize him maintaing a straight A average in school from 5th grade onward. Through graduation with Honors (4.25 GPA) he only missed one trip for a C in English. He has 3 boys and I have already started same program with his oldest. I never had to pay for sons college as a combination of academic/athletic scholarships covered it. I bought him a three year old car and put rest away for his children. The only odd thing now is with everything electronic, we do not need to dodge truant officer like when he was young.

Would love to go to fort wilderness but I would only go to disneyworld in the off season. January February. Driving there from So Cal I think we would hit to much bad weather

Earlier this year we flew and stayed at one of their hotels. 7 days in the parks and 1 at universal. We had a great time. Expensive yes but we love the mouse. Will be going again in a few years

We also had annual passes for deland but they raise the prices so we stopped. Will be getting a week day only pass soon

Jerry

Last week we paid $110 a night. If you use all the Disney transportation it is well worth it
If I used my own car and pay all the parking fees at all the attractions we went too, we probably would have spent more money. Most places we go to like campgrounds right on the beach you are paying at times the same price.

Between Thanksgiving and Christmas 2020 the same site goes up to 128 a night to 158. The week before Thanksgiving it is 109. That is when we will go back.

Like anything else it is what you want and what you are willing to pay.

There are waaaaaay better places to spend your entertainment dollars. Seaworld used to be a staple but we haven't been there in over 20 years so I really don't know how much bang you get for your buck there anymore.

And they've expanded their money-grubbing into their cruises as well. Just compare the cost of comparable Disney cruises to Carnival or Royal Caribbean - crazy money for the same cruise but there are plenty of lemmings that have no regrets putting those vacations on their 25% interest rate credit cards.
If you can’t afford it or too cheap to go, don’t. You don’t have to disparage those that do. It’s no doubt expensive but it’s an experience like no other. Clean and safe besides. Everything is relative.

One of the really slow times are right after labor day. This past September was hot but we still had great time. We head out early and wife and I would fade around 4 or or 5. Grandson and his mother would stay out to park closing. Sometimes we head back to RV, walk dog, nap then go back out. We never get bored there as there is always something to do/see. We always take bikes along.

Agree! It's not about where you're going...it's how you get there that matters most.

I've got a slightly different take on the fort.
I'll admit to being just a little let down by it at first.
For the price...and with all the build up I'd read and heard, I expected it to be basically an extension of the park....
with high end golf course quality landscaping and topiary shrubbery throughout, hourly parades of characters coming through to socialize with the kids, etc...

Our first few times there were in our old popup camper, and we were on the tenting/popup loops.... dirt pads that weren't even perfectly level. Nicer than a state park for sure...but it was just a campground. The site was so out of level I had one tire completely airborne by several inches in my BAL leveler to get the small popup trailer level side to side....
There are lots of activity choices that are great, but a lot have added costs.... and what we did do didn't strike me as "out of this world"

Since then we've been back a few times in the MH. The most recent trip was to the 1400 loop, which is a premium loop in eye shot of the chip and dale campfire. that' I'll admit was an awesome location and approximated what I thought a Disney campground "should" be.

In fact after the last trip, I lefty wondering why there aren't a least a few other places around on a similar par. To my knowledge there just isn't....

well, now that I'm thinking about it that was a little more the 4 years ago...about due to go back I suppose!

If I may speak about "Cost' for a moment...

My Missus is in a battle for her life right now, and we honestly don't know how things are going to work out...
She has told me that she wants to go WDW, and stay in the Campgrounds...
What would you pay: in order to fulfill that wish?

The cost is irrelevant; when the benefits might be boundless...

Bob, your last sentence pretty much answers your question.

By all means, if you can swing it, do it. I suspect you'll end up kicking yourself if you don't.

Sending prayers and lots of "pixie dust" to Mrs Denman.

I've got dates set aside, and all of the pricing...
(Quiet day in the Office! )
I'll discuss it with her this evening during MNF!

Popfla, we live off 417 exit 17 about 17 miles from Disney also. We live in the Meadow Woods subdivision. My wife took a pic of a Freedom Elite the other day. Does your licence plate start with LOM?
