Been discussed on the forum numerous times, especially when they raised the cost for the pass.

America The Beautiful Pass

active/vets with with any disability get it for life

A free, lifetime pass – available to U.S. citizens or permanent residents of the United States that have been medically determined to have a permanent disability (does not have to be a 100% disability).

Does save you a ton! Wife and I both have one.

We are old and deserve it! HA

I am tired of never qualifying for anything, never get any of the breaks, or perks. I only got my booster shot when they changed the rule to say ANYBODY could get one I want to be Special but I guess I am not; I can't even get the Aaron Rodgers State Farm rate

Got my pass this year when driving through Yellowstone. I was 61. I just told the ranger what pass I wanted to buy. She never asked for my ID. Guess I looked old enough. I'm 62 now so I don't have to feel guilty when using it

I got mine right before they cranked up the price but never had a chance to use it until our recent trip up the Smokies and Appalachians. Big discounts on camping plus free entry to Shenandoah National Park and Lookout Mountain Point Park.

For those that do qualify, I found the Online link to get the pass.

https://store.usgs.gov/senior-pass

My luck, I would get arrested They say they verify age on some proprietary database and if you do online they make snag you for some federal violation defrauding the US Government.

On the flip side, it looks to only be $80/year; so for less than 2 gallons of gas per month; I can afford it.

It's $80 for life time not a year. And I'm 62 now so I qualify getting the pass and collecting my social security are my first benefits for being old

The very day I turned 62 we drove up to the National Park Headquarters in the Smoky Mountains and got mine. That was 13 years ago. When we were in Alaska in 2016 the wife got one at Denali. Once we were camped at Zion and the wife went to town to do some laundry and could not get back thru the gate. I had to walk out to the gate and show my pass. That is why we thought it would be a good idea for her to also have a pass.

I believe it is $80/year for us youngsters who have to get a new one each year, however.

I have used my pass several times to get into Yellowstone. Saved me a lot of money. Glad I bought my pass a few years ago.

Both statements are correct, I posted the link for $80 lifetime, but was also making note that on the flip side, in the event for those of us that do not legally qualify there is an alternative to pay $80/year If you look to menu on the left of the link, if gives the option to go to the 2nd link.

Don't lose the card because here is no database that shows you have one. Lose it and you get to buy another one. Got mine at Point Park, Lookout Mtn. back in 14.

I thought it was $20 a year when I drove through Yellowstone. Maybe it was $20 for the day or maybe my old timers is kicking in and I can't remember anything

That my have been just Yellowstone and not the whole system.

Earlier this year we picked up the annual pass and it was ~$80.
