Gas in California

We're currently at a RV park on the beautiful Monterey bay. It's a small park with less than 50 spaces, a guesstimate. Some of these folks no doubt planned their vacations months ago. I have seen license plates from South Dakota, Montana, Washington and at least 6 rentals, 2 from Canada. Traffic seems it's usual crazy on the Pacific Coast Highway.

I'll go out on a limb here and say
Any gas car purchased when it's 5 years old as used is maybe 250% greener than any new electric.
Environmental cost to build is erased.

In the last 5 years(or whatever time frame allowed for used electric vehicles to be available), ANY electric driver who didn't buy a used electric instead of a new electric isn't about the 'green'.
They're fully about the 'self'.
Fully.

Actually there's factual studies regarding the "green factor" of ICE cars vs. electric. You have three basic phases: Production, Operation and Disposal. What is usually missing from studies is not the actual burning of the gasoline, but rather the pollution from refining ICE fuels from oil.

Here's about the most factual and unbiased study I've found to date. The details can be proven by statistics.

I find this quite offensive. I know folks into their late 80s and early 90s that have more cognitive ability and mental capacity than folks in their 20s, 30s or 50s.

You know my
Some people just aren't happy unless they just aren't happy?

Well,

Some people will make any argument when they can't make any argument.

So age-isms are brought forth as the buzzer shot.

I had to go to court once as an expert witness.
The term
cognitive decline
was important to the prosecutor.
I made him reword about a dozen times before he finally understood that
I couldn't agree with the 'cognitive decline' because the plaintiff might have been a dumbass all his life and there was possibly/probably
No decline
Because
It was just his standard life-long stupid.

Cognitive decline diagnosis requires a historical base.

My dad at 85 is sharper than ever. Wittier, more tolerant, insightful, gathers knowledge from the fringe to enhance his mainstream(this sure wasn't a thing he did in his younger years.)

I do not think the Alluded target of the post is sharper than ever.
It might be a case of elder abuse if it were family drama and not national drama.
(I think Mr Cosby will be ok in the long run)

But.
The post was too simply said and a bit;
'He's old and the value of the old diminishes across the board without individual regard.'

Many old folks aren't losing it. They never had it, but now we're in a position to see them from our more matured view.

I cringe when someone says
'My dad told me in 1970 to always change the oil at 3 months or 3,000 miles whichever came first. He had his changed 6 times while his car was was on blocks during his overseas duty'.
(Insert stupid things your dad said here.)

There is only one answer to that.
'Your sheep dad was a dolt'.
In his 80's maybe still is...but now you know,

That’s taking advantage in my opinion.
That story was the impetus for the OP to start this thread.

This thread has swerved all over the place. From high gas prices to the myths of electric cars being good for the environment to how set in their ways old people are to how dumb young people are. Gotta love the Thor forums. How's the weather wherever you are? Here in Central Texas we are at the mercy of a high pressure system with late afternoon temps in the low 100s and almost zero chance of rain.

High 90's, windy, excessive heat warning. 6% humidity.
Will be 48° tonight.
Had a frost the last day of May. It deleafed my little cottonwood and aspen sprouts and killed my Princeton Elm. Cottonwoods and aspens have releafed. potatoes are stunted.
If the tomatoes produce this year I can amortize the greenhouse cost down to about $900 per pound of produce.

I found a good mavic 1 drone almost 60 days ago. Blown in on a wind from Lord knows where. Bought a controller fot $34. Had an old cellphone to dedicate. Got it to all to sync. Too windy for the last two months to loft it.

Gas?
The tbird uses premium and another $12+per tank in additives at 10+mpg.

8.1 bigblock at 5mpg in town 11.1 mixed, 14- pure highway. Premium fuel.

Zr2 blazer is like throwing a brick in the air. 12ish when weighted with equipment. Premium fuel.

The prices will pizzmeoff but they won't deter me.

I didn't work the 96 hour weeks to be scraping/scrapping now.

It's cool, breezy and overcast on the Monterey Bay. 61 degrees with 11 mph winds from the north west. Small craft advisory due to choppy waves.

Gas still going up!
