Suggestions wanted!
I would appreciate recommendations for RV parks in the southern California area, Oxnard, Santa Barbara, etc. We prefer RV parks but would consider state parks or campgrounds, preferably near or next to the ocean. If you know where to go deep sea fishing in So Cal that will be useful too. We know the "good places" on the central coast but are considering venturing south this winter.

Flying Flags in Buelton..... But, problem is I haven't seen any vacancies lately. Don't recommend Dockweiller park unless you can sleep under giant jets taking off from LAX all night

Good luck. We can't wait to hear the stories of "the ones that got away"... and the ones that didn't!

What do you catch down in San Diego? On the central coast it's rock cod mostly on the boats, not sure about pier fishing or surf fishing as I haven't done that in a while. We'll check out Flying Flags, drove by it on the way to that tourist trap Solvang.

Flying flags is a nice cg, expensive, but nice
My 8 day fishing trip with go 400-500 miles south into mexico. We target yellowfin tuna, wahoo, yellowtail, dorado (mahi mahi) and grouper
Over night boats are targeting bluefin tuna right now
San Diego has lots of half day to 16 day options

Impressive!
Wow, those fish are impressive! I can't do the long trips any more -- one day is my sealegs limit. We are thinking of trying SoCal this winter, usually avoid it and the San Francisco bay area due to traffic but hope that winter is better. We like staying close to the ocean and will be searching for a state park or RV park.

San Francisco is not a place to go right now. Lots of auto burglaries and window smashes in the city. If you go to Orange County, fishing out of Newport is nice.

If you like to dry camp, our favorite place to go is Emma Wood State beach/park. It's a little delipidated due to storms, but you will park within feet (yes our most current trip the high tide mark was 15 feet away). Incredible views of the ocean, channel islands, dolphins etc. But it is very spartan. Right now, it's first come first served, so the best time to show up is a Monday or Tuesday. We love it there because we can chill by the ocean. I'm not a fisherman, but I do see people fishing right from their RVs. Also $40 a day or $38 seniors.

Hello
We love spending time at Ventura RV Park located in Ventura Ca. (at the beach) $65.00/night and in San Diego we like to stay at Chula Vista RV Park (in the harbor but still on the water out your door) Both parks are great and the cost is good but you do have Campland on the Bay in San Diego but they can be $150.00/night.
