3,000 mile trip

We just returned from a 3,000 mile trip to Washington state from San Diego.

Everything worked great except the heater acted up the morning after we ran through a pretty intense rain storm. Whatever got wet seemed to have dried out and the next day the heater was working fine.

We used the Winegard WiFi extender in each RV park except the last one where their WiFi was unstable, going in and out. Worked great. A little slow to get set up. I'm going to try getting its hotspot going. We have a deal with Verizon that gives us a SIM card for $5 a month. 15 gigs of data/month. Should suffice.

Now I gotta clean it!

We have a 2019 Miramar and have had the same problem with the furnace after hard rains. Furnace won’t light and times out. Talking to the guys at the dealership, they say that the thermocouple that senses ignition gets wet and so it doesn’t know that the burner lit. Give it 8-12 hrs of dry weather and it usually lights without fail.

We use a small 750 / 1,500 watt electric space heater that we use if it doesn’t get to cold. Keeps the bedroom nice and toasty without burning thru propane.

Well if the "Furnace won't light" the thermocouple won't see it lit, will it? And since the ignitor is also the flame sense device, wouldn't it make more sense to say the ignitor got wet and won't spark? More likely the control board gets wet, common Atwood furnace issue.

The fix for me was to caulk the top of the trim that surrounds the heater access panel. Cost me a board to learn that but multiple inspections and no problems since.
