Has anyone stayed at Huntington Beach State Park in SC

I am wondering what the Potable water is like there? I know water near the ocean can often smell like sulfur. I don't want to start a debate about Bottled vs Campground water just curious if anyone knows what the water is like there.
Also if you know anything that we shouldn't miss while there that would be great.

Thanks,
Larry

It's been about four years since we visited and we weren't camping at the time - so can't speak to campground water. But can speak to things to do....
Definitely take time to tour Atalaya Castle and Brookgreen Gardens across the highway from the park.

There was an incredibly nice Nature Center. They had a pretty destructive fire a couple years back, so don't know if that's been rebuilt or not.

But always keep your camera handy! Wildlife everywhere.

See here for a snapshot of our visit: Picture a Different Myrtle Beach – Picture The South

Haven't stayed at Huntington Beach SP, but I have stayed 7 miles north at Myrtle Beach State Park. It has a great pier and is close into town but far enough away so the beach is usually deserted except during Spring break and around Forth of July. The water is city water and is OK. Just watch the tree limbs, as the park is full of old growth live oaks. Some tight turns for a 31 ft coach.

Stayed there in the South campground labor day weekend. Water was great. No off taste at all.

They do equipped with the basics. Rent a Golf cart from King of Carts. They deliver free and it was nice having a way around.
