I understand what he is saying. I attended a CART race at Laguna Seca a few years ago. Our "camp spot" was a 20' square chalked out in a field. Generators, music, cars, you name it all night long. We didn't go there for a peaceful commune with nature. We went to see obnoxiously loud race cars run at 240mph. The campsite reflected that.

The OP didn't attend that kind of event.

Try to keep up.

Keep up with what? You just explained with an example why the post from txc2936 was off-topic.

If you are OK with that sort of behavior then maybe the speedway is appropriate for you. However, what we are talking about is lighting off a loud generator in a quiet campground at 2AM. Quite different than the speedway I would presume.

And people at a Metallica concert probably wouldn't complain about a construction generator running... if they could hear it.

But anyway, thanks for the tip.

I find it ironic that a lot of people on this forum look for and find the worst in people yet give Thor a total pass for the crap they produce.

If you let stuff like this upset you: I wonder how much time you spend trying to topple windmills...

16 ACE 27,

Let me try and keep up.

When you go to motor sports events, you are forced to boondock out in the fields (unless you want to pay $600 a night). So, i figured, all would cease at 11 PM, this was my first experience, and i saw how many people were running generators, running loud parties way past 1 AM.

I've been to many a 24 hr race and partied till dawn (back in my Daytona college days) . But how the tables have turned since i am now a senior and want my piece and quiet in my RV...ha

I had the inclination to go and pound on peoples doors and have them roll in the party and shut down generators. Good judgement prevailed and i just packed up and tried to find a new spot at 2AM.

I understand after a great day of racing and folks had a great time, not to start tangling with the folks, so, we now will pay the extra price and find full hookup sites, and i get to play another day....

BTW what was the original topic?

Calling the Park Host

BTW.

I tried flagging down the Campground Manager at 1:30 AM, but they simply drove by all the folks partying and Generators running.

Figured, if the camp supervisor cant stop these inconsiderate campers? What i am going to do but get beat up in the middle of the night.

In 14 years of RVing (the last 7 full-time) from Maine to Florida, Delaware to Arizona, I've experienced just 2 instances of seriously inconsiderate campground etiquette. One was a group playing their radio loud enough to wake the dead at 11 pm. (They turned it down when I politely asked them to - then jacked it up to full power an hour later. I called the campground manager - got him out of bed! - who told them to turn it off or leave. They turned it off.) The other was at Lorette Lynn's Hurricane Mills RV park. A group of dirt bike enthusiasts seemed intent on seeing whose dirt bike could rev the loudest until 3 am! It was a dirt bike weekend with races, which I did not know when we checked in. This was an especially difficult night for me since my youngest son was killed a year previously when a reckless driver ran Eric's motorcycle off the road. I did not complain at the time, but we left the next morning shortly after daybreak.

It - amuses - me that every time someone posts about this type of incident, others pile on with replies that give the impression these incidents happen every night in every campground in the world! Maybe I'm just lucky and, in 14 years, just randomly picked the few RV parks where it doesn't! LOL

It appears some of you are very very 'me' while decrying the 'me' gang.
Such small instance seems to cause you So much pain....

You can tell people think the world revolves around them when they decry rudeness at a campground yet tolerate the rudeness of site team members on this forum.

Feel free to use that red triangle with an exclamation point in it in the left column of every post anytime you see ANY POSTER being rude.

It's always not such a big deal... until someone farts burning tires in the crowded elevator you're on.

I went over to his rig and pounded on his door and told him to turn it off. I reminded him of the campsite quiet hour rules, and he looked at me dumfounded. I then told him that his generator wasn't even a campground approved.

How inconsiderate and clueless do you have to be to fire up a very loud generator in a crowded campground at 2:00AM?
Did you forget your in California?? Not that they are all bad, just a high % of "Non thinking elites". Look at who they elect to lead them is all you need to do!!! LOL
