Day 37

Drove to downtown Flagstaff. Not much there. Walked through a few stores, ate lunch, came back to the cg

The high elevation gave Maria a bad headache

Saw signs saying south rim of Grand Canyon was 80 miles away. If I had researched this betterwe would have taken the drive. Oh well another time

Thank you for all the great info, guys. So enjoyed seeing all your upgrades. What direction did you go to Albuquerque? I can't wait to see your blog from the beginning! Quite impressive! Thanks ladies for letting me pick your husband's brains. Oh, by the way, one more major problem occurring, getting rain coming under the slides bottom due to the rails bad install. I am Barbara! Happy Trails

Me, too! I've had to find a venue first for my Dad's 90th Birthday. I've had 3 referrals to a nearby repair shop, not Camping World!

Day 38. Almost home!!!

Drove to Needles today. Man the wind was bad. Fought it the entire drive. We were about 50 miles from the koa and got hit by a big side wind. It knocked me 4-5 feet to the right into the emergency lane. It seemed to pick us up and threw us to the right. I slowed way down after that

Dont know how fast the winds were but they kicked my ass from Albuquerque to here. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. Early start tomorrow I want to be home at noon

Did my last out of Ca gas fill up. $2.80 gal. Cross into Ca and I saw $4+Needles Koa is a dirt
Lot with little trees. Ok for a stop over like we're doing but wouldn't want to spend more time than that

Welcome back to CA... and it's fuel prices!
Looks like you're enjoying a balmy 106 there in Needles. Have a lot of good memories of dove and quail hunting out there.

Cheers!

Day 39. Home at last

Got up early and on the road by 7. Made it home at 1130

Cleaned out all the food, dirty clothes, and misc gear. Tomorrow the inside will be cleaned

Overall very good trip. Great memories for sure

Here's the break down

Total miles. 6091
Mpg 7.5. Thought it would be a little better than that

$$ campgrounds $2300
Food$1000
Gas $2100
Tours, souvenirs, supplies and whatever else we bought $3600. We bought a lot of stuff

That's it. Until the next trip

Jerry

ps another big earthquake just hit. Glad it's far from me. It rocked and rolled for a long time. Scary

Jerry,

Nice breakdown on expenses. Do you have data handy for the most and least you paid for a night at a campground?

Least was $35 a night. Most was I think $90+ at Cherry Hill Park

I didn't write it down. I just looked at my credit card statements for amounts

Jerry, Was that with or with out a toad? We were doing 6.49 with the toad and one AC running on our trip home from Indiana. I do have a miss fire on the V10. I had replaced the coils because I had a random misfire, that apparently wasn't the coils, I'll try spark plugs next. There was plenty of power just had a rough idle at times.

We always tow the jeep.

We rearly ran the generator and ac while driving. Only did it a couple times when maria wanted to sit at the dining room table and do crafts. Most of the trip the mh stayed cool and ac wasn't needed. Dash ac was all we used
