Jerry and Maria's travels in Our Motorhome

I started my mod thread to keep track of everything i do to the mh so i decided to do this thread of our travels

Please excuse the typos. Im doing this on my cell and i have fat fingers

We took our first shake down trip last week. 500 miles up to Bodega Bay. The home of Hitchcock's The Birds

This is our 6th time up there. We go to meet members of a forum group for seaswirl striper boats. Seastriper.com. great group of people. We had 80 people for the Saturday fish fry

Anyways the drive was 9 hours long and the mh did great. 7.5 mpg with the gen on half the way. Met my buddy Paul on Sunday and we fished 5 days. We got 5 salmon and an assorted mix of rock fish.

Paul on the left andI'm on the right

Fridge froze the salmon after vacuum packaging it. I was happy with that

We stayed at Westside Regional Park. Nice quite cg. Its dry camping with water at every other site and a dump station by the entrance. We got a spot over looking the channel. Maria spent many hours sitting in the passenger seat reading magazines and looking at the water

Maria and Sasha took a little nap while I drove. Roxy just watched

Kind of hard to drive and take pics

Sorry not to much more to say about the trip. Heres a few more pics

golden gate bridge in the back ground

Great place to eat. Bbq and seafood

Thats it for now. Thanks for looking

Jerry

One more thing to add. We got 8mpg driving home no gen. Both coming and going i had the cruise control set at 68-69 mph while on the I-5 and the other freeways traffic permitting. The mh did just fine going over the Grapevine. 60 without pushing it. Going down hill the tow haul down shifted properly. Most of the time i didnt need the brakes at all

Got a little pushed around by trucks but once i got used to driving it was minimal. This was my first trip ever driving a mh.

Jerry

Maria and i went to Vegas for 5 days. There was a glass and bead show at South Point Hotel. Maria is big into crafts and making jewelry.

We stayed at Thousand Trails in ne vegas. The cg is only ok at best. My water hookup leaked so bad i didnt use it. Crew came out the next day to fix it. The sites are super close together. When my neighbor openned his slide i had about 6 feet on my side but they were a nice enough couple with a brand new Bounder 33c. He complained about the handling so i told him about the chf and trac bar. Not sure he understood but i tried to help.

Maria and i dont drink or gamble so vegas isnt really our kind of place. We decided to play tourist. Thurday we to tour Wayne Newtons house/ property. It was actully kind of cool to see. I didnt know he was so generous with his time and money to help with numerous causes. Good for Wayne. Tour lasted about 2 1/2 hours. Wayne is one of the largest breeders of Arabian horses. They are beautiful. I didnt take many pics here. Couple of the hirses and Maria and i in the cockpit of his old plane

After that we went to the Mob Museum. This was great also. You go at your own speed to all the exhibits on the 3 floors. We rented the audio tour. This gave us much more info. We stayed here about 3 hours and hoped the 50+ mph wind died down before we left. While on the 2nd floor we looked out the window. I thought we were in a hurricame. It was crazy . When we came out it had slowed way down. It was cold and still bliwing but we walked to Fremont area to shop.
Got back to ghe mh ti find out the water was out. A couple trees fell over from the wind snd busted some pipes. They got it fixed late morning the next day

Friday we drove to Hoover Dam. Amazing place and the work they did to build that thing is incredible. We git there at 10 and the fiest available tour was 1130. Great! That gave us enough time to watch the movie of its building and to look around the shops snd look out area. That thing is high. My butt is still puckered up from looking down the dam. We took the dam tour,1 hour, and walk around after. The tour takes you inside 500+ ft down inside. Amazing!!

After the dam i dropped Maria off at the glass show and i went to Bass Pro Shop. Picked up a few fishing things i needed and gun cleaner. Repeated this on Saturday. Home SundayClick image for larger version

Vegas

Enjoyed the great pics
We went to the Mob Museum on our last trip to Vegas. We were pleasantly surprised, it was much better than I anticipated.

I hear that. Would be fun letting a few rounds go. BTW, anyone know rules for taking guns across state lines. And into Canada.
