Love's Stations with RV Hook Ups

I just read an article that Love's Travel Stations are now adding R V Hook Up Spots at select Oklahoma stations. They plan on expanding out to other locations and states in the near future. The typical back in spot will run $36.75 per night with electricity and will be available on a reservation system.

That info has been out there for over a year. It's a slow implementation.

I don’t know if it is the same thing, but we stayed in a Love’s RV Stop in Cordele, Georgia last September. It was a gated area behind a Love’s truck stop. There was a manned check in building near the gate where we entered the code they sent us via email when we made our reservation. It was very clean, and felt very safe. There was maybe one other RV there when we were. They had fire rings, and a community swing. We paid $52.00 for the night we were there. It was perfect for an overnight stop.

For a motorhome with a TOAD a back in site is useless. Who wants to have to unhook just to get a few hours rest?

IMO, that's too much money for a back in one nighter in a truck stop. Noise and diesel fumes are not how I want to spend the night. For that, I'd just park in a highway rest stop.

Yeah they have been building those for a while now. But not real handy if you're traveling with a toad. We use Harvest Hosts locations for our overnight stops on trips places. Have never had to unhook at one of them yet.

Totally agree! I think this program, in part, is to keep RV's out of the truck parking areas out back. It's a high price for the noise unless you're nearly dead from driving and just need a place to sleep...at any price. Watch out for the "lot lizards"...they are expensive too and give you souvenirs...permanent ones!

I tried to stop at a Love's once off I-75 near Bushnell, FL:

No RV accessible gas pumps.
No RV/Truck parking that wasn't a back-in spot.

My MH and Toad moved on down the road to an RV friendly gas and snack location.

It’s a convenience! We’ve never stayed at one of their locations, but have used their facilities! Showers are exceptionally clean and safe!
My opinion this is their answer to accommodating the RV world!
Just like Cracker Barrel’s free RV parking behind their restaurants! Again even Cracker Barrel’s are relatively noisy because they are usually located adjacent to the interstate!

Clines Corner [truckstop and tourist trap]exit 218, on I-40 in NM has put in a FHU pull thru gated campground..$27.. Nuttin fancy, but it will do for overnights and shutdowns due to weather..
Stayed for 2 nights due to weather and road closures [6" snow with 30+ mph winds.and temps in the single didgits, wind chill readings in the "Oh Dammit" range.]
Best part is, they honor "Mudflap" for diesel purchases..

Here's my question for Loves or any other truck stop adding RV sites, will it still be permissible to pull into the truck parking area to get a little free shut eye if that's all you require? Or are you going to be pushed into spending cash for a hook up site?

For the most part .. the "Buy & Git" Loves/Pilots etc attitude, have limited truck parking on purpose.. They are not interested in trucks buying fuel and then spending the weekend... hence installing separate "RV" paid parking that will not conflict with the truck side of the establishment.
