Spent the weekend in Leasburg Missouri at Ozark Outdoors. A great campground in mid Missouri very close to Onondaga Cave State Park. What a beautiful area. Ozarks are quite hilly and the three rivers / creeks: Meramec, Huzzah & Courtois (cote away) are so scenic.
The large campground has full facilities for all, from primitive camping to full pull through sites. A store, motel, cabins, many shower houses, haul trips up and down the rivers and adventure trips.
Onondaga Cave State Park is a short walk across the bridge and up the hill. A fantastic natural feature of Karst Topography. It is a cool respite from the Missouri heat. There are camping facilities also, and a historical tour that will amaze you.
The floating / kayaking on the rivers is fun and not too difficult. Be aware that their may be trees or rocks that will need to be avoided. But, there is always someone that is willing to assist. And to be close to St.Louis or Kansas City and yet be so remote is a real thrill. This is a great experience for kids as well as adults. Try the 1.5 mile Tube Float at Ozark Outdoors just to get an idea of what you'll see on the rivers!
