Lynchburg, TN Jack Daniels!

So, Deb had the idea for a quick weekend get away. Want's to do the Jack Daniels Distillery Tour in Lynchburg, TN.
Any advice on a campsite close to there? Just the Wife, the Dog and me. Maybe a spot of whiskey in our future!
Thanks!

If you want a nice whiskey tour, I highly recommend doing the Bourbon Trail in and around Louisville. We did it last year and had a fantastic time. But, you need at least three days if you want to hit all 10 distilleries on the trail.

We stayed at the KOA in Manchester. A bit of a drive, but lots of cool stuff to see. We did the "Angle's Share" tour, got to sample several single barrel selections. Good stuff. The tour ends in the bottle house. Since JD is in a dry county all you can "BUY" is a nice empty bottle. But the folks there are so nice they fill it for free! LOL! Pritchards distillery is close by too. A craft distillery the sell world wide with 8 employees. They do tasting too. But they make burbon, rum, vodka and whiskey.

We did the JD distillery last year. Very cool and surprisingly very informative not to mention the whiskey. They have several different to tours to choose from. We stayed at the Manchester KOA. Nice campground reasonable distance to Lynchburg. Worth the trip have fun.

Thank You all for the replies. We have been to Louisville and Bardstown KY. Did tours at Heaven Hill, Angles Envy and a few more. We know that Jack Daniels is in a "dry county", and will plan accordingly. I would like to see them when they burn their own Sugar Maple to make the charcoal that Jack Daniels is filtered through!
I read a review of Tim's Ford State Park. It is on a lake and very close to Lynchburg, TN. Anyone camped there?

They weren't burning the day we were there, darn it! Watching their video it's an impressive process. No automation, all done by experience and "feel." We were told they only burn 2 maybe 3 days a week depending on production needs. Not sure how you could find out the schedule. Hope you hit one of the days!

Just mind the 30 mph speed limit on the way to the distillery, it's strictly enforced. The smell from the barrel house is incredible. Kind of like a rich yeasty fermenting bread dough with sweet sake floating on top.
