New Orleans RV parks

Any suggestion on nice RV parks in the New Orleans area. We want to stay a couple nights to give us time to enjoy the sites.

Reunion lake RV resort up in Ponchatoula is terrific if you can get in. A ways north of New Orleans but the best RV park nearby within an hour. I have not been pleased with the parks in town.

We've stayed at Lakeside rv park in Livingston north of New Orleans several times, very nice park about 45-60 minutes across the causeway.
I agree, we weren't impressed with any in town. The nice one in the French Quarters was way too expensive & full of very high end motorhomes.
About 6 years ago we stayed at a park that prior to Katrina was a small motel that they converted to a rv park, VERY tight spots & full of mostly permanent residents. The owners were VERY nice folks though.

We stay at Lakeside quite a bit. Love the setting and very nice folks! Also will allow you to dump tanks while you are traveling. Have propane on site.

Were you ever there when they had the 2 swans? The white one was very bold, taking crackers, & nearly fingers, from you. Also messy, it appeared they had a big dog roaming around the way that thing crapped everywhere.
