Not very practical to walk across. The bridges are too far from the falls. Goat Island on the US side is one place you don't want to miss. Also don't miss the Maid of the Mist boat tour that goes nearly under the Horseshoe falls.

Can’t help with routing, we came in from the West from Indiana. Walking from the border is maybe 15 min, the Falls can be seen from the bridge. Lots of neat places around the Falls to explore, our grandson Loved Hershey World!!! The Skylon tower and restaurant is nice, great views, modeled after the Seattle Space Needle. Parking on the Canadian side is kinda high if you drive over.

If he loved Hershey World then the next place you should take him to is Hershey, PA! Another cool place to visit.

Yeah, those plastic raincoats keep you from getting too wet. Stay to the back of the boat and on the lower deck, that helps too. I liked Canadian food cause they had lots of different nationalitys cooking different styles. And they were nice too. Take the busses, the subways, REMEMBER where and on which level you parked your car and the parking fees. I kept some Canadian money for memories. Oh yeah, only some places can change your money and think fast. You will enjoy it. The maple cookies are good.

There is more to Hershey, PA than chocolate...they also have Reese's
