Our first long distance trip

Hi all!
We are on our way to Gettysburg from NC and stopped over in VA at a Harvest Host site. It is a brewery so we enjoyed a flight (bigger glasses than most) and some wonderful beer brats and sides from their restaurant.

We did hit heavy down pour around Stuart’s Draft and found a Small leak behind cab. We think it is the slide so that will need checking out.

Tried to see Neowise but no luck to cloudy. Here are some pictures- the Blue Ridge Mtns are in the background.

Keep the pictures coming!
Gettysburg holds quite a story that should never be forgotten.

Great pictures. If you have a chance to go to Virginia, try Colonial Williamsburg. There is also some wonderful sights to see in Kentucky and Tennessee. Loretta Lynn has an RV park on her property in Tennessee.

Hi Bob

Thanks It was a great trip. We stopped at a new place in northern Utah called Bear Lake in Garden City Utah. It is actually between Idaho and Utah. It is 20 miles long, 7 miles wide and 207 feet deep. Lots if things to do there on the water and around the campgrounds.

Bob we love Gettysburg! Dad and I are history buffs so we are meeting them there along with my sister and BiL.
It is also our first time dry camping and it actually has been quite easy. Thank goodness the heavy rain made the temps drop.
The brewery also has brunch so we will hit that up and then head to Gettysburg.

Thanks Paul! We were in Williamsburg last year but not camping. Good to know about Tenn. and Kentucky. We will definitely check out Loretta Lynn’s RV park. She is one of my favorites. My plan next year barring the virus is going to the Smokey Mountains to see the fireflies next summer.

Kentucky RV Campground

While in Kentucky last year, we stayed at a state run rv campground called Big Bone Lick. It ran around 25-30 per night with water/electric at each site and a central dump station. They have a museum there to tell about the area and why it is called Big Bone Lick. Dinosaur bones were found their and they have live Bison on the property. It is a beautiful area in the local mountains.

If you love History: you can't do a whole lot better than Gettysburg...
(Yes I know: there are many great Historic sites around all of us... )
