Stay safe out there #2

We had some rough weather roll through last night. Including a possible Tornado at a nearby campground:
Tornado rips through Birch Run

We've stayed at that campground several times in the past. It is a nice stop in between Birch Run and Frankenmuth.
Pine Ridge RV Campground

It goes without saying here: If you hear about bad weather coming seek better shelter than the RV.

I understand we lost house, two cars, boat and everything we had Nov 17 2013 in Washington Il. Hit the basement seconds before it hit. I often wonder what we would do in the RV. Camping last week we had some pretty bad weather and we discussed it but had no idea where to go. My RV has no basement. Be safe.

I agree. Some of the campgrounds I've been to do list storm shelters (note if the bathrooms are in a cinder-block building that is most likely a shelter).

Pine Ridge RV--the campground in the story--I think has the storm shelters in the restrooms.

Also note: We were not camping there yesterday; I just noticed the story and it happened to be at a campground where we've stayed before.

The hard part is when do you go. We new tornado was possible and only had about 15 min warning at most. We also had city alarms that went off and you wont get that in a park.
