New trip for 2022

Looking to plan a trip for early May. Been a number of places over the past 10 years. Any suggestions for good places that the average rv'er might overlook? Located in NC. TIA.

Just go anywhere that You think you will like. We are going from Washington to California - I40 to Memphis, Nashville, Louisville, Indianapolis, Upstate New York: then head back to Washington on 80 stopping off in Utah and Boise to home. Little over 6,000 miles. Visiting family, music, national parks and food.

If you are near I40, we stopped at the Grayville Illinois KOA. It was a great location and nearly brand new. They have an old looking western town with a saloon that serves meals/beer. They have mini golf and a large playground for the kids. We were assigned a spot backed up to a cornfield. They also have a shooting gallery.

Close to the most fun we've had so far is rolling slowly along the back roads of our own area we live. We have big travel plans to tame the wild, wild west next year but so far have stayed in and near the SE. We leave home and drive 50 to 75 miles along the coast and inland backroads, staying 2-3 nights at various campgrounds. We'll venture out for the day in these local areas and find historical things you'd never hear of otherwise. Sleeping in and arriving early is very relaxing. With the onset of hundreds of new breweries popping up everywhere, it adds to the excitement. You meet so many local folks and learn so much about the areas. Harvest Host has developed into a plethora of options as well. Drive slow, stop often and stay longer. If you have to hurry to meet deadlines...don't go. It's like the old adage...stepping over $20's to pick up $5's.

Ton to do in NC. You hit up Outer banks or Mountains?
