Truck Stop Gasoline
Just wondering if any of the larger truck stops have gasoline offerings (lanes) on the diesel side for large tractor trailers? Having a gas motor in our Class A, it's always a chore to get gas while trying not to hit cars, running kids and pumps. Hard to back up when pulling a dolly too. It's be so much easier if we use the drive thru lanes like the big boys have!

Generally they do not. Diesel and bulk DEF only on the truck side.
I use truck side only and haven’t seen a gas pump yet.

Some stations have R V lanes that have a larger area around them to get in and out. I haven't noticed any truck stations with gas in the diesel truck area.

Major truck stops often have lanes suited for pickups with trailers or gas Motor Homes
Some even designated RV lanes like at Flying J
As noted never in Diesel alleys
Use the car/truck outer lanes where you find the gas/diesel pumps

Only issue with the "RV lanes" at truck stops are the goober contractors in pickups that have to pay cash and pre-authorized type transactions. THEN...he/she/it goes back inside to eat 5 hotdogs while leaving his vehicle blocking the pump island. You can spot them easily as the are generally wearing a filthy cap with the number 3 on it.

Pretty much that'd be every rv gas site I've seen.
But you forgot the j turn it takes to line up with the pumps while crossing the semi truck entrance.
I sometimes pass 8 or so gas places or pull in earlier than need dictates as I spot openings in smaller stations.
We usually take the
'Business route'
Through town because ours are exploration trips, not destination trips.
I doubt I've waited for a gas spot 3 times in 25,000 miles

That includes the inconsiderate RV owners as well that pump and then decide to walk inside for an hour long shopping trip. More RV owners do that than contractors.

The only thing i truly like about the new EV charging stations
Is the time limit after charging to disconnect and move prior to getting charged for blocking access

And then there are the Flying J locations that the pumps don't work with your CC so everybody has to go inside and stand in line to pre-authorize your fuel purchase.

How long does it take to add 150 miles?
How much is the fine for not moving?

Not to be snotty, but learn to drive you gas Class A and fuel islands are no problem.

You know there are some stations that are tight for small Class A rigs let alone rigs over 30 feet and I can tell you of a few pilots that are difficult for a Class C towing. Driving ability is secondary.
BTW your comment was extremely snotty.

I just read the sign and noted it seems to be by the minute at about 1/2 the charging cost
This one is set up at a large Walmart and rarely used the past three years

My wonder was based on:
It might be cheaper to pay the fine than pay a parking meter.

I do t agree with the comment but it’s a legitimate opinion and I don’t find it offensive. But that’s just me.

Like others have said, truck lanes are not gas lanes. We look for the larger stations off of major highways like love's, pilot and flying J. They are large enough that you can navigate them simply.
Also, like others have said, use Google maps in satellite mode or street view to get a feel for the area.
Lastly, like others have said, once you get a feel for the coach, it won't bother you so much. I cannot over emphasize seat time enough. Take it slow and you can do it.

Hey Ted I can shed a bit of light on that issue. A few SOB's are using their credit card on pumps, filling their tanks or saddle tanks and when their credit card bill shows up they claim they never made the purchase which leaves the station owner holding the bag for the fuel cost. If that's a semi tractor getting $400-$500 at a crack it's no wonder they're requiring the credit card customer into the store to sign the pin pad now. The few destroy it for the honest.
