Vin number

Where is the vin number located? What letters or numbers does it start with?

On Ford chassis vehicles it will start with 1F...

The easiest place to find your VIN is on your paperwork from the dealer (it should be on any loans, insurance, and warranty forms).

It is even on the build out sheet from Thor if you have it.

In Class A motor homes it is on a printed sheet and attached to the inside of the motor home. In my Vegas 24.1 it is under the window on the drivers side. (Same place on the 2016s) The 10th character tells you the model year (not manufacture year) of the motor home. for Ford (at least) an F in that position signifies a 2015 model (and 5 Spd transmission) and a G is a 2016 model with either a 5 or 6 Spd transmission. Thor literature says Thor is only ordering 6 Spd transmissions on the 2016 models.

VIN Decoder - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums

This is a web site for the Ford Truck vin decoder. Just enter the vin# and it will tell you all the specifications of the vehicle.

Coach is at the dealer so I can't verify this, however, I believe the VIN is also on the yellow load capacity sticker which should be on the bottom inside of your screen door.

Perhaps simpler(but maybe less obvious) - the VIN is on both my state registration and insurance card... with copies of each in my wallet - easy to find.
Had a typo on insurance card on last RV - they caught it at the first registration renewal - couldn't match that I had insurance... so I know they are correct

Unlike automobiles and light trucks where the vin # has to be visible from outside the vehicle, there does not seem to be a similar regulation for Class A's. But, the vin # has to be permanently affixed to the vehicle. It will be on your insurance, registration, bill of sale, title, etc.; but it must also be displayed in the vehicle and if asked by the police, you should know where it is.

Oh yeah it will also be on your state's registration paperwork.
