bummer...major bummer. I would have gladly traveled to Savannah
I'm pretty sure my current sofa space is 5ft-7in
I'd imagine with the padding one might wiggle in an inch or so, but I can't imagine 3 inches....
hmmm....now that my wheels are turning....maybe I could make some different arms....
since your arms are off, any chance you could send me a picture or two showing how they go together, along with the length and width of it without arms so I can get an idea of what I'd be working with....
what sort of color and type of upholstery is it? guess I'd see that in pictures too....
were you able to take it through your door, or was that a major project to get it out?

no, thanks. you sent them to me...either by PM or email
As much as I'd like to try to make it work, I just can't take on another project just now....and it might even be a bigger project, trying to figure out how to replace the drawer under the sofa I would be loosing.... If you were closer maybe, but as it is I don't when I'd be able to get up there.
Good luck in getting rid of it though.

Thanks for the reply. We are looking at doing the same thing with either Recliners or the Theater Seating. Have been looking at Thomas Payne and also RecPro. Our sofa is just 68" wide in our Hurricane tho. I am cautious about buying furniture without seeing it however. Do you have an opinion on the quality of the Thomas Payne furniture? I would plan to have it shipped to my home and do the tear out and install myself. Any thoughts on that effort?

I did the tear out and installation by myself . It took a little while to get the combination of what to install first . It was in and out a few times . The quality of TP is good . The only complaint we have is , the handles that are pulled to lay the chair back are hard as hell to pull . They are so tight against the seat it is hard to get a hand down to the handle . I ended up trying a cord on the handle to pull . I bought mine from eTrailer . If any questions I will try and help .

Thanks again for the info. I think we are leaning towards the theater seating. We like the idea of the center console to hold beverages. It is good to have input from an actual user.

Can you tell me how wide of a sleeping area that jackknife provides?
The length of it looks good for us... it's the width that has us concerned.
