12V port vs cigarette lighter

Hi all,

RV newbie here. Can I use my cigarette lighter powered air compressor in the 12V port on my 2015 Thor Axis???

Will appreciate responses!!

Ford's RV Power Ports are protected by a 20 amp fuse under the hood. If you compressor draws less than 20 amps, you should be ok.

Your compressor should have a sticker on it that tells you the amps that it draws.

These and some alligator clamp surgery take all the guesswork out of
Jump starts(you or them)
Compressors
Inflators
Impact wrenches
Lights
Electric vehicle jacks(they make them up to about 3 tons)

I'm usually cautious about recommendations and try to match the ability spoken in the question.
But
You can buy these with a mounting plate, so it's just two battery terminals to install.

(The quad was 100yards closer than than RV. So a picture of the quad as proof if experience)

I spliced a few feet of wire between the 12v compressor and the plug, now I can use it to reach the rear
