no air through AC ducts

New(ish) to us 30.2 ACE. With the temps heating up we fired up the AC this weekend and the unit kicks off decent airflow (from the unit) but the ducted vents have no or virtually no air flow coming through them. Tried closing the output vents on the unit (assuming that would force the air through the ducts) but still nothing. Anyone have any issues with their ACs?

This is a common problem with Thor ducted AC, ducts are to small to flow good air. Here is an easy fix, the vents can be purchased from Amazon, measure, cut with a jigsaw, and screw in place. I didn't have sheet metal screws so I used some stainless machine screws I had on hand. The vents go in the rear of the cover where the AC exhaust outlet is and give a LOT more airflow. Hope this helps!

Our 31 L has lower air flow also
We turn off the vents in the areas which we are not using
It helps a little

If you install the vent I showed you'll have plenty of air!

I'm not 100% following. Did you a new duct/vent from the AC?

If you take the cover off the AC unit and look you will see some "diverters" that force the air through the ducts from the unit.

Ours had shifted so they were no longer "diverting" the airflow. After some screws and duct tape, we were able to get them in line and we have decent airflow.

Had the dealer attempt to fix twice, but after we tackled with our roll of duct tape, haven't had issues since. Ducts have air with the vents open on the AC, then really have air flow with the vents closed...

No new duct. Remove inside AC cover, cut hole, install rotating louvered vent. After you remove the filters on each side there are four screws to remove, one in each corner, then inside cover will drop down and you can do the mod. Really easy to do, makes a big difference in airflow!

Got it. I'll take a look... that may be it. Ours has no air flow with the vent open and still no air flow when the vent is closed.

I installed one of those round vents right under my a/c blower and it has helped a lot, but it also cut off the flow on all the passenger side vents. if I close the round vent I will get some flow back to the passenger side. All in all I still like the round vent, pushes a lot my cool air then I was getting before and helps keep the MH cooler. I also got the Magna Shade, that helps a lot, but expensive.

I was surprised to see, when I removed the filters for cleaning, that there are just 2 small cutouts in the ceiling to allow the return air to get back to the coils. Seems to me that is quite a restriction of airflow. I wonder if anyone has found a way to improve the return air volume?

I don't know if this would be helpful or not, but it looks interesting!

Remove the interior cover inside the coach and you will see the duct channels that feed out of the supply air are. Our last coach had those ducts blocked by the insulation due to the installing tech not cutting out for them! Thor seems to have an ongoing quality control problem!

This weekend, I did the round vent modification in the AC Cover pictured on this post. It really does let you blow a lot more air out in the area under the AC.
