2012 ACE 29.1 12 Volt Issue

My ACE has 3 power points (cig lighter outlets) in front that are not working at all and the refrigerator will not run on the 12volt system when the coach is not plugged into shore power. The fridge flips to gas when I unplug and stays on gas when driving. I have looked at all the fuses, they all check out fine. I'm sure there is a relay somewhere that needs reset, but I have not found it anywhere. Any help would be great!

How long have you owned the rv?
I have doubts of that being a 12v fridge.

You have a problem and a separate misunderstanding:

The power point issue is like a fuse or bad wiring - they are normally powered from the chassis battery.

Unless replaced at some point by a 3-way fridge; your fridge is a 2-way fridge:

It runs off 120 VAC from SP or the generator, or
It runs off LP gas when 120 VAC is not available.

It does not run off 12 VDC by itself.

In either case it also needs 12 VDC from the house DC buss for control power, so if you opened your house battery disconnect while driving, it wouldn't even run on LP.

The front dash power ports are powered by the chassis battery. They are fused by the Ford power center under the hood. Look at your Ford owners manual for the exact fuse location. Usually it is #12 with the 2016 plant 750 coaches.


Your coach's fridge (Norcold) is only powered by propane or 120 volt shore or generator power. Few RVers have three way RV fridges because of the high amperage draw (30 amps) which will empty two group 27 batteries in about thee hours.

It might be time for you to buy 2 hours with a mobile tech and have them go over every aspect of your rv.

You don't exactly reset relays.

Hey folks, thank you for your help! I did find the fuse in the front clip of the rig, it was one of the big blade fuses. I was changing the bulb for the tag light (license plate lights are required for inspection here in Delaware) and when I was cleaning up the connection, I must have popped a fuse, which includes the running lights. Would anyone know if the running light fuse is inside under the dash (I checked them and did not find a blown fuse) or under the "hood" again, I also checked those and they all looked good. Clearly I am missing something. Any help would be most appreciated.

The following attachments are from the 2014 Ford F53 Owner's Manual (Our 2015 ACE is built on a 2014 chassis). It is likely the same/similar as your 2012 but an internet search should quickly find you the owner's manual specific to your model year chassis.

This is the fuse panel located under the dash to the left of the steering column.
