2014 Challenger GT Steps not working

The Lippert Coach steps will not come down regardless of switch and ignition status.

I followed the troubleshooting steps.

Red wire has 12v that turns on/off with the steps switch, so no issue there.

Ground is good.

Says I should have 12v on the yellow wire when ignition is on and there is nothing.

I tried following the wire and no luck tracing it to fuse.

Anyone have an experience with this? Any help would be appreciated.

The motor sometimes get stuck. I have had to remove the motor, lube it, test it and put it back into place to have it work again. The motor sometimes needs to be replaced. The gears sometimes need to be replaced. In any case, you will need to remove the motor to check it out. Make sure ALL power is disconnected to the motor/steps before working on it. The motor is held in place with 3 bolts. The steps must be extended to access the motor. With it stuck in the closed position, you might have to loosen the steps from the coach. You can then access the cotter pin that holds the motor control arm to the steps. Remove the cotter pin to release the steps. The motor can be bought on Amazon if it needs to be replaced. With the motor out, you can now check it with a 12 volt source to determine if the motor has gone bad. Remember to disconnect all power sources to the steps before putting your hands/fingers around the steps/motor.

Thank you for the reply. So you dont think it has anything to do with the lack of power on the yellow wire?

If the switch controls 12 VDC to the red wire than that is a control wire. The yellow wire, if ignition supplied, may also be a control wire. The step has 3 controls:

Ignition
Door
Switch

I would suspect there is another main power wire.

If the step light turns on and off with the door opening/closing can I assume the door switch is fine?

The way I read the Lippert manual:
Red wire is Hot from the battery (going thru batt disc.)
Green is Grd.

Yellow wire is switched from the ignition, Hot with ignition on to send signal for steps to retract.
White wire is another Hot through the "Step Switch"
Brown is the door switch Ground. Open door, it will be grounded and control extends steps.

Thank you everyone for the replies. With all this info I think I've narrowed down to either controller or motor.
