Smile warranty void if change oil and fluids yourself?

Hi everyone- we recently purchased a Super C Diesel....want to start getting maintenance records in order but one of the first things it says we need to do is change the oil in the Onan generator after its break-in of 17-20 hours. Can we do that ourselves or take it to a RV Shop or have mobile services come here as long as we document it? TIA

As long as it is done and you maintain records you are good to go. If you do it yourself make sure you keep the receipts for fluids and parts as well are recording the date the service was performed.

I had my dealer change the generator oil at 20 hours after break-in during some other warranty work they were doing. Just keep the receipt or if you do it yourself document it in your records you keep with the coach.

If you are going to change the oil

For My 4KY Onan generator
You need 1.6 Qts. of SAE30 oil
The drain is from the bottom, remove the 2 screws from the small cover. Then use a 14mm wrench.

Just did the oil change. I would revise to say the unit took 1.5 Quarts of SAE 30 and the drain bolt was 12mm not the 14mm the manual said. The 2 screws for the access cover were Torx T27 screws. You will need a wrench to get them off.
