Has anybody cut a hole in floor of slide room to replace a propane tank on a 2014 vegas motorhome. The orginal studs that came through floor has rusted and broke.to me thats the only way to mount brackeds to hold the tank. Has anybody got a better idea if so i would appreciate it thank you
That is, many in this Forum have replaced their sofa or dinette with recliners.
In doing so, they may have some insight.
I’m thinking...With sofa or dinette removed, and the slide fully extended, is there adequate access to find existing bolts under flooring & then replace?
I think you might have to remove the slide to get to those bolts. I have an Axis 24.1 and my propane tank was reptured when a big piece of metal fell off a truck and came sliding down the highway toward me in Alaska. It emptied the tank in about 5 seconds and scared the crap out of us. No spark but it bent the 4 bolts that mount the tank. I could not determine how to access the top of the bolts and they would only spin in place when I loosened the nuts from under the camper. Eventually took it to an RV repair place and they were able to repair it by putting some sort of glue or epoxy in the holes and got the nuts off to replace the tank. By the way-- I found the exact replacement tank at Home Depot. It was about $250. Good luck.
I’ve got an idea...
I assume you are going to put RV up on blocks, then completely remove the entire tank?
Once done, you could identify the exact location by pushing bolts up thru floor until they hit the location on the slide floor
I can see on my 24.1 that there are 4-bolts thru the floor.
Now, again, since you still haven’t told us what model floorplan you have, I’m not sure if you’ll have enough room to work in the slide without removing sofa, dinette or recliners.
But, once you identify the location you could easily use an oversized hole-saw (3” or so) for current & future access.
You’ll need to decide whether to do this with slide extended or retracted.
Now, going thru same hole you can place new stainless steel bolts & large washers, and locking nuts on the underside.
You would need a 2nd person for the final tightening.
Keep us posted as this is something most of us DIY ‘ers can fix.

I've been thinking about this.
I find it pretty hard to believe the bolts have rusted badly enough to be a worry without the entire rv being in the most horrible possible shape.
Can we get a picture of the bolts?
Is everything else under the coach rotting away?
I just replaced the sofa bed with double recliners on my 2015 Axis 24.1. Here is the picture I took after the old sofa was removed from the slide. Hopefully this will help.

So those two metal covers are access points to the main floor.
“I love it when a plan comes together!”
I also am looking at installing 2 recliners

ANY recliners fit, if they fit, whether bought at an rv place or at ikea.
Too many people get caught up in the rv end of it.
Take a measurement and go to lazy boy or somewhere where you can sit in one.
There is no reason to compromise to the three or four available from rv places.
I'm going to buy regular old house units.
The shutdown has kept me from ordering leather Recliners from our local furniture store.

I replaced the sofa bed with Qualitex Monaco double recliners sofa and to match, with 2 Qualitex De Leon
Rysiek,
Will those fully recline with the slide not put out?
We seldom use the slide.
If they do fully recline with the slide in, we may buy that based on your recommendation.
We're not enjoying the shopping involved.

With the slide in, only one chair, in front of the entrance door will fully recline. Unfortunately, the other one in order to fully recline needs another 2"-3". You can recline to very comfortable position but still, not fully. If you mount the chairs few inches back than you should be able to fully recline with slide in. Either way you go, in order to fully recline, you still have to remove the table legs from their space behind the recliner. This is what I would suggest before mounting the recliners. Bring one chair inside the coach and with slide in, fully recline that chair. You will clearly see how far back you are allowed to go and what happens with the stored legs behind. Even if you make a mistake the furst time, it is very easy to unmount and move the furniture a little. Please, see the pictures. First 3 pictures taken with slide in. The last 2 with slide out.
On another subject. Before you buy anything I need to let you know that I have "little" issues with the recliners. Both of them, when fully reclined, do not stay fully reclined. As soon as you move in your chair, they move forward to very comfortable but not fully reclined position. I am in the process of dealing with these issues but so far all suggestions sent to me by email do not work. At this point no one has any idea what is causing the recliner not fully recline. My wife is less picky and fine with that but in my opinion this should work the way it supposed to. I just sent Shop4Seats another email with photos and will see what the next step will bring. I will keep you posted.
Other than that, I am very happy with the workmaship, the quality of the material (Ultraleather), color and the appearance of the entire set. Our 2015 Axis looks brand new again[emoji16].
Interesting...
My 2017 (and beyond) doesn’t have the legs and tables stored behind the sofa.
So I guess that means there’s enough room?
Sounds like it. Those reclines are "wall huggers" and if I remember correctly from their flyer you only need 4.5" wall clearance. Shop4Seats website is very helpfull and shows exact measurements for each model.

Just curious TaylorBob. On your 2017 model where do you store both tables and legs?
Well, I got incredible news today. Shop4Seats called me to let me know that they will replace the driver side captain chair and replace our manual double recliner with new POWER OPTION double recliner... FREE OF CHARGE! I really have not expected this to happen. I have never asked for this to happen. I thought, I will get replacement armrests and will have to live with not fully reclined sofa.
Well, I call this an excellent service at Shop4Seats. If you ever decide to go with them, please call Angela Allen at (562) 393-5112. She was helping me.
