House Battery location problem
I have a 2017 Thor Quantum RS26. My house batteries are under the steps. The problem is that I can not add water to the batteries easily. One battery, in the step opening, can be only accessed for maintenance by removing all the cables and wiring harnesses. The second battery is completely under the floor and can not be accessed unless the first battery is removed and the second slide over to it's place. There is no access from under the coach. It took me 45 minutes, using and eye dropper, dental mirror and a flash light to put water in the second battery. This is a very poor design.Iis there anybody else that has this problem? if so how do you put water in the batteries without unhooking all the cables and harnesses?

Yep, Battey watering system then once they go dead replace with maintainance free AGM's.

Welcome to the forum!
I have the same situation with mine, and found it easier to simply pull them out.
(And clean things up under there at the same time.
Oh! Get yourself a Turkey baster for adding water...

If you have the original batteries end the quick power depletion and dead battery syndrome. Replace all 3 junk batteries with AGMs and start enjoying your rig. The watering system could be a $60.00 non issue if batteries are already shot.

The other members advocating replacing the batteries with AGMs are absolutely right! The stock batteries will probably only last 2 years max and may already be cooked to some degree due to low water. The stock batteries are not deep discharge (marine) batteries either. If you upgrade you can install higher amp hour (i.e. 125 Ah) deep discharge batteries in anticipation of adding an inverter and/or solar. With the new battery/inverter system you can use AC when you're boon docking and not have to turn on the generator. It's so nice to program the coffee maker to come on and wake us up in the morning without the noise of the generator. Also, there's so much peace of mind with the maintenance free AGMs.
A word of caution: wear insulating gloves when using a wrench on the batteries. The underside of the top step is metal and you're going to get zapped if you make the connection.
One more thing: I installed a DC voltage gauge next to the monitor panel so I can see exactly what the power status is in the house batteries. The 4 light indicator on the panel is a bit vague for me. You will get longer life out of your batteries if you don't discharge the batteries too often below 50%.

I used caveman technology when replacing batteries. I marked the 4 posts with colors Red, White, Blue & Yellow tape. Then put the same color tape around cables. Yellow under stairs to right. I used group size 31 AGM in Axis 24.1 no modifications. No mixup here.

And that is why you always disconnect the ground (negative) connections first and connect them last.

While you’re busy thinking about changing batteries keep this in mind. If you think about electrical circuits you seriously don’t want to hook to 12 V batteries in parallel. The reason for this is if one battery is weaker than the other , There will be a current loop between the two batteries that will discharge both of them. Putting two 6V batteries In the series connection will have one cell at a time in the circuit. There will be no current loop. Deep cycle 6 V batteries are often put in golf carts.
I learned this lesson the hard way because I had an auxiliary battery in my truck and I forgot to disconnect it from the main circuit. So it ran down the major battery and I had to get a tow. The auxiliary battery was hard to reach. So
I left the truck overnight at my Mechanics shop. It was vandalized and the windows were broken.

Yup: it sure is...
When I need to get some new Batteries: I'm going with Interstate AGM; in the OEM sizing (27)!
