Harris were the OEM batteries installed by Thor. Chances are you have the originals in your Vegas.

They’re shot. Drain down in a couple hours..looking for decent replacement. Lead acid is fine with me..

A pair of Group 31 batteries will just fit in the Axis/Vegas battery compartment. That will give you the most capacity whether they are FLA or AGMs.

24's are all I can squeeze into my 24.1
Its a height, not width problem.

There are options... if you're willing. I built a frame to raise my step about an inch, which allowed GC2 6volt golf cart batteries to fit. Not for everyone, but worked great for us.

Here us a pic of two G31 AGM batteries in the step compartment on my 2021 Axis. You have to slide the first one to the right so part of it is covered, then tilt in the second one on the left. It just fits with 3/8" to spare.

Golf cart batteries are too tall without modifying the step compartment.

Here's a pic of my golf cart 6volt batteries installed (with step mod). Notice the thin frame addition around the top of the step support.

Really amazing that your Harris Specials have supported your needs all these years.
For many of us, the OEM House Batteries that THOR installs in Vegas/Axis don't last very long.
Usually because of Dealer neglect while sitting on lot waiting for a buyer.

I’ve only had the MH a couple years and had not really u
“Used” the house batteries for any extended dry docking. Didn’t want to either, until I replaced them

Yes...just replace them with Group 27 marine. Keep them tendered by shore power or a portable 100watt Solar and mppt solar controller. You can go to 6v golf cart batteries, but it will require you changing to series wiring.

I changed out my original Harris batteries in my 2015 Vegas 24.1 this Sep. Replaced them with Group 27 AGM. The original batteries were still holding a charge and had never had any problems with them, but after 6 1/2 years of use decided to change them as preventative maintenance.
