Make sure it is a pankcake type my last one was from Lowes the one that the kids took was from Harbor Freight I like the one from Lowes better Porter cable

Kobalt makes a portable air compressor that uses 12v or 120 v and sold at Lowe’s for $50. Works great. I air up anything from RV tires to kiddie swimming pool with it.

Just make sure it will pump high enough to inflate the rv tires; if the tires require 125 psi & the compressor will only go to 90 it's not of much use to you. Also some of the 12 volt so called compressors will take about a hour to inflate 1 large tire.

Viair Rv air pump is 150psi. Small portable and powerful.
Has gauge built into inflation gun, one 30’ hose one 30’ extension hose.

Was thinking of a Craftsman with a tank but they are kinda heavy, suggestions

To answer your question I would say buy a compressor. Its a pain looking for a place to get air especially with a 30 ft mh. And if you or a fellow campers needs air at a cg you have it with you. You never know when youll need it.

I bought a Porter Cable 150psi compressor.

I keep it in the storage area under the bed. Since it doesnt get used much its the best place for me to store it there instead of one of the cargo compartments.

I have another compressor in the garage I use to air the tires up before trips.

My buddy bought something like this.

Its 120 psi which is plenty for his 82 psi tires. this is only good if you need to top off your air meaning you only need 5 maybe 10 lbs of air. He said it works great for that. If you need a lot more air than that its probably not the one you want or need.

Don't understand why you need to air up the tires? My DP tires were at 95 psi when I bought it 3.5 years ago and they are still within a pound or two of that now. Probably lost a pound or two just checking the pressure every 6 months or so?

My Vegas tires have mostly held their pressure well, but I carry a small compressor from Sears with no tank. Takes up so much less space than the tank one I had before, $40 with free shipping. I prefer an AC unit, as it is easier for me to crank up the generator and use a cord than it is to connect to the batteries.

It generates enough pressure to air my tires to the recommended 65 and 75 psi in a few minutes, even when a leaking extension dropped one to 45.

We bought a 3 gallon portable unit made by Briggs & Stratton. It can fill a tire to 125 psi...

Kev-I am looking at the Viair 40047 for my RV. What do you have and is it working out for you? Do you use your RV batteries or toad battery to run the air compressor?

Viair 400P-RV...excellent unit!! Expensive, but what about RV's isn't? Clamps to battery and reaches entire length of RV on both sides...from the front.

Space and weight are the factors. Another consideration, other than max PSI, is the rated "duty cycle". If a compressor will inflate to 150 PSI but takes 15 minutes to get there, it will overheat. Volume (CFM) is a good basis for what you choose. The higher the CFM, the faster it will inflate.
