ACE27.2 water coming out city connection when pump on

I purchased a used ACE 27.2 and am having to learn most things on my own. Purchased from a man who was battling cancer and was too weak to show me the ropes. Figured out with YouTube vids and manual how to sanitize and water tank and lines and to turn on pump (it worked) but when pump is on water comes out the city connection. Is there a valve I was supposed to shut or perhaps a check valve that may be malfunctioning? I did find the valve by the tank and pump which I had to open to get water to flow to faucets other than that one I could not find any other valves. Thank you for any help. I am a retired firefighter and drove fire engines and worked with pumps and valves etc. but of course this is very different. Also this is my first RV so I am a total newbie! Thank heaven I have a neighbor who is extremely mechanically inclined.

The city water connection contains an integral check valve. Tale the screen out (it should be pointed out, not in) and you'll see a spring loaded button for the valve mechanism.

If the screen was in backwards, that's your problem.
If there is crap in the valve, that's your problem.
Otherwise the valve may have failed and you can get a replacement on Amazon.

Pressed on the check valve a couple times and it reset. No more leak. Thanks to all of you.

If you need a new check valve, I'd order from ETrailer or Amazon. I am into week three of waiting on ours from Thor.

Welcome aboard RC! Looks like you have issue number 1 under control. What year is your 27.2?
Another good resource is Thor Motor Coach. Get the coach's VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) located to the left of the drivers seat, go on the the Thor website, click on the owners link and register your rig using the VIN. There is tons of useful information regarding your particular rig's systems including manuals and how to videos.
Happy Trails!
Mark

Welcome to the forum. You might want to go ahead and purchase a spare check valve for the spares box. Might not be too long before it goes out completely.

2017. I am happy to have the V-10, but wish I had some of the better tech features in newer versions. However I was able to get it for a reasonable price and only 9400 miles.

Dave,
Since you recently ordered one is there a part # I need? I went on Amazon and wasn’t sure if I was seeing the correct check valve for the ACE. Thanks again to everyone for the help. I am enjoying the challenges and learning so much. Taking trip #3 in May to Rincon Parkway and will tow with a rented tow dolly. Taking my grandson and will be dry camping for first time. There are some trucks that offer services like water and black and gray water draining but no electricity. However my ACE came with solar in addition to the usual gennie.
